Constellation myth of shield constellation

There is no fairy tale about the shield, and its name is as related to real historical figures as the queen throne.

In A.D. 1683, 300,000 Turkish troops surrounded Vienna, Austria, in an attempt to conquer Europe. Polish King sobieski led only 70,000 troops to defeat the Turkish army in Vienna. This victory has had a great impact not only in Poland but also in Europe. Hevelis erected the shield monument only to praise Subeiski's meritorious service and represent the shield he used, but it is difficult to see the specific shield statue in fact.
