The most common way for the ancients to judge a person's life and death is to test whether the person is still snoring. Because breathing is an important life activity of human beings, stopping breathing means death. Every organ in our body, as well as every cell, consumes oxygen and produces carbon dioxide all the time.
The lung of the human body is a place for gas exchange, absorbing oxygen from the outside and exhaling carbon dioxide from the body. The quality of lung function usually determines the working state of other organs and is also a "barometer" of human health. However, with the increase of age, the total vital capacity and lung activity will gradually decrease, the respiratory mucosa will gradually shrink, and the ciliary function and cough reflex sensitivity on the mucosa will gradually decrease. Therefore, attention should be paid to lung maintenance and exercise of lung function.
For the judgment of lung function, "vital capacity" and "one second quantity" are commonly used in medicine to detect. Vital capacity refers to the maximum amount of gas that can be exhaled after inhaling as much as possible and exhaling as much as possible. The vital capacity of a healthy person is generally around 3~4 liters. The whole exhalation process takes about 3~4 seconds, in which the amount of gas exhaled by 1 second is "one second", and the amount of one second of healthy people accounts for more than 80% of vital capacity.
However, lung function testing needs professional equipment and can only be carried out in hospitals. Hanako teaches you three small methods of self-testing lung function, which can be measured and estimated by yourself.
1. Blow out the candle: light the candle, then move it away for a certain distance, and then blow it out hard. Healthy people can generally blow out candles outside 15 cm. If it is less than this distance, it means that lung function has decreased.
2. Climb the stairs: climb the stairs at your normal speed. Usually, a healthy person can climb to the third floor without panting, indicating that the lung function is good.
3. Hold your breath: Hold your breath after taking a deep breath. If you can hold your breath for more than 45 seconds, it means that your lung function is very good. If the breath holding time is less than 30 seconds, it means that the lung function has decreased.
The best way to exercise lung function is to do aerobic exercise. However, modern people are under great pressure and too busy at work. Few people can stick to regular aerobic exercise for a long time. Many people breathe short and shallow every day. It can also be said that breathing is not correct, just "panting", which leads to a rapid decline in lung function.
When the lung function declines, the gas exchange capacity will be insufficient and the oxygen supply capacity will be reduced. When we need a lot of oxygen during strenuous activities, long work or study, we will have symptoms such as dizziness, chest tightness, inattention, memory loss, insomnia and so on. Not only will it limit our activities and affect the efficiency of work and study, but also the lack of oxygen will cause damage to health, and all organs will be "passive", which is more likely to breed various diseases.
For most people, the time cost of aerobic exercise is too high. So is there any way to exercise lung function without spending time? Yes, just learn to breathe deeply. As long as you work and study every day, take a deep breath consciously and actively. Doing it three times a day for 10 minutes each time can produce the effect of exercising lung function.
In the case of general breathing, only 80~90% of human alveoli are in working state, and some alveoli are in collapse state, and their functions are wasted. Take a deep breath, all the alveoli will be filled, and you can also exercise the intermuscular muscles, increase the contractility of the muscles, which is conducive to the expansion of the lungs and enhance the gas exchange ability.
When you take a deep breath, you need to inhale through your nostrils. In addition to expanding the chest, pay attention to the bulging of the abdomen. Because there is a diaphragm at the boundary between the human chest and abdominal cavity, abdominal bulge will make the diaphragm fall, and then the chest volume can be expanded to the maximum, which has the strongest effect on alveolar expansion and reaches the deepest deep breathing.
When you are not used to it at first, you can try to bulge your abdomen when you take a deep breath, and put your hand on your abdomen to feel the feeling of bulging. Regular practice of deep breathing can improve the oxygen supply state of the body, eliminate the fatigue of brain cells and improve the operation efficiency of body organs.
