What does Mani Stone mean?

The original name of Marnyi Stone is "Marnyi Stone". This is based on the eight-character mantra of the Third Tathagata's mantra, "Om. Mazhimo Yesaled", which is derived from the previous two characters "Mazhi".

Altars made of stones and slabs - Manidui - can be seen almost everywhere in the Mani Stone Mountains, at intersections, by lakes and rivers. Most of these stones and slabs are engraved with six-character mantras, wisdom eyes, statues of gods, and various auspicious patterns. They are also masterpieces of folk artists.

Stones can not only be used to make various production tools and weapons to attack wild animals and defend against enemies, but can also be used to build houses and cities, grind powder and prepare medicines, and in some places are also used to build houses. The large number of stone tools, sarcophagi, stone mound tombs, and stone watchtowers discovered during the cultural relics survey can prove how unusual stones were to our ancestors.
