Ye Man, a master of Chinese studies, interprets elegant life.

Brief introduction of Ye Man

Ms. Ye Man is one of the few masters of Chinese studies who integrate Confucianism, Taoism and Buddhism in the world today. His father is a aristocratic family, and Wang He and Han Deqing are sworn brothers. Ye Man was brilliant at an early age and was taught by the imperial court at an early age. At the age of six, he spread the word from left to right. 1935, Mr. Hu Shizhi (Hu Shi), then Dean of Peking University College of Literature, studied in the Economics Department of Peking University Law School.

In the 1960s, Ye Man established the "Wenxian Society" in Taiwan Province to spread the three major cultures of China, namely Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism. In the 1970s, he established Wenxian College in his home in Hagen, Los Angeles, USA. Every Saturday, courses such as Four Books, Tao Te Ching and Buddhist Stories are free, and China culture is taught to overseas Chinese, which is expected to promote more self-cultivation and learning atmosphere.

In the mid-1980s, Ye Man was elected as the vice president of the World Buddhist Friendship Association on behalf of the Buddhist Association of China (Taiwan Province Province). During this period, he made a dramatic acquaintance with Zhao Puchu, president of the Chinese Buddhist Association, and became close friends. Later, when Park Lao invited him to visit Yunju Temple in Beijing, he found that Yunju Temple had been destroyed in the Japanese invasion of China, and immediately made a big wish to rebuild Yunju Temple.

1990, Ye Man went to Hongkong, the United States, Singapore and other places, and raised a total donation of 320,000 US dollars. Among them, US$ 300,000 was donated to rebuild Yunju Temple, which was received by He He, then vice mayor of Beijing, and the 10th Panchen Lama. Park Lao also specially wrote a banner to praise his achievements. The remaining $20,000 was donated to Yunnan and Guizhou to establish Hope Primary School. So far, thirteen Wenxian Hope Primary Schools have been built. 1992, Ye Man was awarded a gold medal by the World Buddhist Association and the Buddhist Congress attended by representatives from 27 countries.

On June 30th, 2007, he was invited to give a lecture on Buddhism in China at Guanghua Temple in Beijing, and taught the audience the traditional culture with the theme of history, Confucianism and Taoism at Wangjing Street in Chaoyang District, Beijing.

Mr. Ye Man died at his home in Los Angeles at the age of 103 on February/morning of kloc-0/7 (2 am of Beijing time 16).

Mr. Ye Man, a famous China scholar studying in the United States (1914-2017), arrived at 15 on the morning of February 10/0 (Beijing time 16 at 2 am). When Mr. Wang died, he was not ill, peaceful and comfortable, and everything in front of him was arranged in perfect order.

Originally named Liu, he was born in 19 14. He was originally from Hunan, graduated from Peking University and lives in Los Angeles, USA. He is one of the few famous scholars in China who integrate Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism.

Many people have heard the following sentence: "One life has two fortunes, three feng shui, four virtues and five studies", but few people understand the meaning of this sentence. From the perspective of the Book of Changes, it is clearly pointed out that what power determines a person's fate. On the other hand, if you understand this sentence, you have the key to change your destiny.

Mr Ye Man is one of the few masters of Chinese studies who integrate Confucianism, Taoism and Buddhism in the world. Let's listen to her explanation of this sentence. She believes that fate is determined by heaven, luck can be changed, and feng shui does not go against nature. These are all external forces. What people can decide is to practice goodness and study holy books.

Life: Life is predestined.

In ancient times, people were divided into four occupations, namely, "scholar, agriculture, industry and commerce". In the past, the status of scholars was the highest, but in order to gain social status, scholars had to take exams, and only after passing the exams could they be called scholars. Learning can be an official, and being an official can be prosperous. Since the Sui and Tang Dynasties, the only way for ordinary people to become officials is the imperial examination, so there is a saying that "no one asked after ten years of cold window, and once they became famous, they became known all over the world".

Scholars at that time often said that "one life, two fortunes, three geomantic omen, four virtues and five studies". Said that these five things must be possessed in order to be admitted. You shouldn't be beaten if you don't pass the exam. Wang Chong, a great scholar in Han Dynasty, opposed superstition and didn't believe in ghosts and gods all his life, but he insisted that "fate" existed objectively and that a person's fate was predestined by heaven. "Life must do something sometimes, and there is no need to force it all the time."

What China people call "destiny" is just a person's "eight characters". According to the date of your birth, it is converted into "heavenly stems and earthly branches", a total of eight words. According to these eight words, we can calculate the honor and disgrace, wealth and death of a person's life.

Modern people, if they want to be officials, have to take the university exam and take the civil service exam, just like in ancient times. However, in today's society, the criteria for judging a successful life have changed. Let's watch the money together. If you have money, you have status and you will be respected. No matter what industry, it is possible to achieve the so-called "success." However, you don't pay attention to other factors in your destiny, such as health, longevity, honor, disaster-free and so on. It's a pity that many dignitaries and rich stars, despite their wealth boast, have a short life span.

However, in any case, a person's fate is doomed from the day of birth, and we can predict this person's life trajectory in advance with the help of eight-character analysis.

Second luck: fortune can be changed.

From this point of view, a person's life is good or not, and it is not for him to decide at all. Isn't this fatalism?

No, don't forget, there is also "two luck and three feng shui" behind. Speaking of luck, you can make your own decision. "Yun" means "move, run". In the eight-character system, there are two important factors that affect the eight-character system. One is the Universiade. Every step of the Universiade is ten years, which means it turns once every ten years. Everyone's starting age is different, 1-9 years old. This good fortune is counted from the month when a person was born.

There is still a fleeting time, which is shared by all the people in the world. For example, this year's fleeting Guisi. If your horoscope needs water. At a certain stage, there will be drowning, and you will be beautiful in this decade. The Universiade can't meet "Guishui", but this year's fleeting time is "Guishui", so you will be very lucky this year.

So: no hit, only luck. Everyone has a good time in his life, no matter how hard his life is; No matter how good life is, luck is not good. Although everything goes well when you are lucky, the fortune is interdependent, and the best time is to take precautions. Good luck, equivalent to turning soil into mountains, takes many years. However, when the mountain is about to fall, it is in an instant, so there is a saying among the people: "Like reeling, it is like a mountain."

Therefore, the ancients taught us that the most important thing for a person to live in this world is to know how to "cherish happiness". As the old saying goes, "Not a grain of rice can be wasted." This is not to cherish wealth, but to cherish happiness. There is no Shuang Fu, but it never rains. Why is there no Shuang Fu? If people are proud when they are lucky, the second blessing will not come. But when disaster comes, people seldom reflect, so the second disaster comes.

The eight characters are suitable for people, but people are not suitable. Follow it, and people will become slaves of the eight characters.

Three geomantic omen: Geomantic omen is the beauty of nature.

Mr Ye Man talked about her unique understanding of Feng Shui. She said: The word "Feng Shui" comes from the monks in the temple. They are very particular about Feng Shui. "Half of the world's famous mountains are monks" means that half of the world's famous mountains are occupied by monks.

Feng shui is very simple, that is, air and sunshine. Good geomantic omen is to lean against the mountain, which is very stable. Then there is water in front, and there must be green space in front, which is called Tang Ming. There is a river in front of the house and a hillside behind it. Hakka always make a pond in front of his house. The so-called Hakkas are people who moved to the south after the chaos. Because the wind is blowing wildly in all directions, what can be done to control it? It's water, so there is a small pool in front of the house to collect wind.

Feng shui is very simple. For example, don't walk all the way to the gate, that's an arrow through the heart; Don't put the kitchen in the middle of the room, which means the fire is in the middle and the owner is not at ease; Don't go door to door at home, otherwise it's equivalent to mouth to mouth and always making trouble. These seemingly superstitious, in fact, have some truth, which is accumulated by experience.

Mr. Ye told a story. Fan Zhongyan, a great politician in the Northern Song Dynasty, handled a lawsuit: two in-laws divided the place, and one of them didn't want the place, because there was a stone in the middle of the house, and an arrow pierced the heart, so there was no quarrel. Fan Zhongyan said it doesn't matter. I have a good place. I will exchange it with you. As a result, it didn't take long, and suddenly there was a strong wind and heavy rain. As a result, all the stones were piled up in front of the door by the wind and rain. As a result, ten thousand arrows pierced the heart and became a great luck.

This story told by Mr. Ye reveals a very important law in Feng Shui: "If you get the blessing of the Tao, you will never live in a place with good Feng Shui." My teacher once told me: what kind of house a person chooses seems to be his own decision, but it is actually destiny takes a hand. If you are lucky, you will unconsciously choose a house with good feng shui. If you are unlucky, you will choose a house with bad feng shui. But if a person hires a talented Feng Shui master to adjust Feng Shui, his fate will change. This feng shui master is the one he hit!

Four virtues and five studies: change your own destiny

Reading can change fate, which can be explained from two aspects. First, as we all know, if you study well and do well in the exam, you can enter all units. If the unit is good, the welfare is good, or if you are admitted to a civil servant, you can change your family.

Secondly, by reading, you can increase your wisdom and learn from other people's experience, so that you will take fewer detours in life and find a shortcut to success.

But what I want to tell you here is the power of "Ji De" to change fate:

There are two kinds of accumulated virtues: Yang De and Yin De. The so-called Yang De is a virtue that everyone can see. Some people do good deeds in order to be seen by others. This is "intentional goodwill." For such people, God has a saying that "good intentions are not rewarded", but they won't give you much good news. And "accumulating virtue" means secretly helping others and doing what should be done.

Although one good turn deserves another, if you treat doing good as a transaction, you are doing business with fate. "I have done so many good things, how many good things will be rewarded", if I have this heart, this good thing will be very small. Others worship the Buddha as a god, thinking that kowtowing to the Buddha, lighting incense and donating some money can bless the Buddha. This is not only ignorance of Buddha, but also an insult to Buddha. Buddha does not make people believe in him like this, but makes people understand his truth.

So how do we accumulate virtue? First, make a wish. The greater the desire, the greater the strength. Try your best to help everyone you can, whether the other person knows it or not. If you don't pursue returns, you have no purpose and no utilitarian heart. Let go of what you have done and don't be complacent. After a long time, the idea of doing good comes out of my heart. Doing good is as natural as eating when I am hungry and sleeping when I am sleepy. In this way, this virtue will be greatly accumulated and your destiny will be greatly changed. It can not only keep you away from disasters, prolong your life and increase your wealth, but also benefit future generations.
