Brief introduction of Huili cultural bridge

The covered bridge we see now is both a bridge and a pavilion, a cultural bridge, also called Jinmei Bridge. It is located on the banks of Xihe River, one kilometer southwest of Huili Ancient City. The Cultural Bridge was built in the Qing Dynasty and rebuilt in the 36th year of the Republic of China (1947). It has experienced more than one hundred years of vicissitudes.

The bridge is 26. 16m in length, 3.90m in width, 3.4m in pier height and 4.5m in corridor height ... Two rectangular piers made of red sandstone divide the bridge into three holes, and the bridge head is a porch with a gable roof for rest. The word "cultural bridge" inscribed by Huang Runxuan, a famous local scholar, is at the top of the door, and there are three steps below. The bridge is shaped like a long corridor, consisting of wooden beams and columns. The bridge deck is paved with wooden boards, with fences and guardrails on the outer columns on both sides, and benches for pedestrians to rest between the inner columns. Legend has it that the Cultural Bridge is a place where Huili culture meets and Kuixing enjoys protection. Scholars and students in those days, in order to protect the gods, let the stars shine high and have a bright future, must deliberately cross the cultural bridge before going to the exam.

In 2007, the Cultural Bridge was repaired and rebuilt, and the dilapidated old bridge was completely renewed. Four characters "Fu", "Lu", "Shou" and "Xi" are written on all sides of the bridge to pray for the well-being of people in the past.

Culture Bridge is a typical wind and rain bridge among the ancient bridges in China. It can be used for people to walk, shelter from the rain and chat in the cool. When the sun sets, there are farmers hoes, and the old cows come home at dusk, which is an idyllic scene. Cultural Bridge is the only wind and rain bridge in the history of Huili, which has witnessed the changes of Huili and is also one of the key protected buildings in the historical and cultural city of Huili.

There are two bridges in Huili, one in the west and one in the east, one in the past and one in the present-a cultural bridge with all-wood structure without nails, and a Zhuoying bridge with two floors and bright lights at night. These two bridges have a common feature, both of which are covered bridges, which can avoid wind and rain. Standing on the bridge, or looking at the distant mountains, or looking at the green fields in the stream, my eyes are in the rain, my body is in the rain, and I can't say how comfortable I am. However, the passers-by in twos and threes around me were not in a hurry, just sitting on the bridge and leaning against the railing for a while ... Maybe only in Huili, maybe only in Huili, they were so leisurely and even in a hurry.
