Nathan Chen was born on May 5, 1999 in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA. His ancestral home is Laibin, Guangxi, and he is a Chinese-American figure skater. ?
In 2012, Chen Wei officially entered the international arena and began to participate in the International Skating Union Youth Grand Prix. In 2015, Chen Wei won his first men's singles championship in the youth group of the Figure Skating Grand Prix Finals. In 2016, Chen Wei participated in the Figure Skating Grand Prix Finals for the first time and won the silver medal in men's single skating with a total score of 282.85 points. In 2017, Chen Wei won the men's single skating championship at the Four Continents Figure Skating Championships and the Figure Skating Grand Prix Finals.

Chen Wei is known as the "King of Quadruple Jumps".
