Introduction to Liu Gongquan

Liu Gongquan (778-865), whose courtesy name was Chengxuan. When Liu Gongquan was twenty-nine years old, he passed the imperial examination and was promoted to the rank of Prince Shaoshi. He was granted the title of Duke of Hedong County and became an official as the Prince Taibao. He was known as "Liu Shaoshi" in his later generations. In the sixth year of Xiantong (865), Liu Gongquan passed away at the age of eighty-eight. Received the gift of Prince Taishi.

Liu Gongquan's calligraphy is famous for his regular script. His handed down steles include "Diamond Sutra Engraved Stone", "Xuanmi Pagoda Stele", "Feng Su Stele", etc. His cursive and cursive scripts include "Fu Shen Tie" and "Shi". "Six Days Tie", "Humiliation Tie", etc. There are also ink "Mengzhao Tie" and "Wang Xianzhi's Pear Sending Postscript" handed down to the world. Liu Gongquan is also a poet. Five of his poems are preserved in "The Complete Poems of the Tang Dynasty" and one poem is preserved in "The Complete Poems of the Tang Dynasty".

Memorial for later generations

Liu Gongquan’s tomb is located 1 km north of Rangyi Village, Azi Township, Yaozhou District. It is 82 meters from east to west and 64 meters from north to south. It is a circle. Liu Gongchuo's tomb is in the east and Liu Gongquan's tomb is in the west, 46 meters apart. There is a stone tablet in front of each tomb. 1 The upper part of the stele is written in regular script, "Given to Jinshi and the Vice Minister of the Ministry of War and Vice-Censor, Shaanxi Governor Bi Yuan." The second inscription "Meng Qiu knew about Yaozhou and Zhang Fengming erected a stone"; the upper and lower sections of the other passage are the same as the previous stele. The official script of the Bank of China has the following characters: "Tomb of Prince Liu, Duke of Hedong County, Prince of Tang Dynasty". The monument is 5 meters away from the tomb mound. In 1956, it was announced as a provincial cultural relic protection unit. In 1990, the Shaanxi Provincial Cultural Relics Administration approved the establishment of Liu Gongquan’s Tomb Cultural Management Office.
