During wearing hallux valgus orthosis, patients should not wear high heels and pointed shoes, mainly loose shoes. Others do not need special attention.
Wrong idea:
Many patients with hallux valgus think that only surgical osteotomy can treat hallux valgus, and other similar ideas are wrong. Usually, surgical correction of hallux valgus is not recommended, because surgical treatment of thumb trauma, osteotomy is used to fracture the thumb, and the recurrence rate is relatively high.
Developed countries such as Europe and America used hallux valgus orthosis more than 20 years earlier than China. Before the United States, many patients with hallux valgus were corrected with hallux valgus orthosis and achieved good results. According to different conditions, the correction period of wearing hallux valgus orthosis is about 1 ~ 3 months. American orthosis is a mature orthosis, which is suitable for most valgus patients.
