Extended data

The status of Bodhisattva is second only to that of Buddha, and it is a figure who helps Buddha spread Buddhism and save all beings.

Bodhisattva is a male image in ancient Indian Buddhism. After spread to China, with the popularity of Bodhisattva belief and deep affection for the world, it gradually turned into a gentle and kind female image. In Buddhist sculptures, bodhisattvas are mostly dressed in ancient Indian and China aristocratic costumes, which are particularly gorgeous and elegant.

During the Hinayana period when Buddhism was just established, only Prince Siddhartha, the predecessor of Sakyamuni's lifelong practice and not yet a Buddha, was called a bodhisattva. After the establishment of Mahayana Buddhism, according to the theory that "everyone has Buddha nature, and everyone can become a Buddha", anyone who aspires, seeks Buddhism and Taoism, and popularizes all sentient beings is called a bodhisattva.

Later, the name was more extensive and secular, and people called those monks and nuns who were proficient in Buddhism and worshipped at home bodhisattvas. The bodhisattva's task is to turn all beings in reincarnation into buddhas.

The bodhisattva statues enshrined in the temple are mainly Manjusri Bodhisattva, Samantabhadra Bodhisattva, Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva and Tibetan Bodhisattva.

In short, seek great bodhi beings; Bodhicitta is a "Bodhisattva".

It is widely said that Sihong vows: "The vows of all beings are endless, the vows of endless troubles are broken, and the vows of infinite practice are achieved." However, bodhicitta is not an accidental idea of becoming a Buddha and benefiting for a lifetime, but a practice of achieving positive results.

The theory of Buddhism and soil has three meanings: "1. Refers to the reason of Zhusa Kuboth. 2. Because it is bounded by Bodhisattva, it is named Bodhisattva, full of self-interest and altruism, and willing to seek the interests of Great Bodhi. 3. Sa Yongyi, fighting for Bodhi, hence the name Bodhisattva. "

Bodhisattva is the general term for practicing Mahayana. From beginner to bodhisattva, it is shallow and deep. But most people always think of Guanyin, Maitreya and Manjusri, so they dare not call themselves bodhisattvas. Bud bodhisattva, although not yet great merit, is already the "head of all living beings"; It is respected not only by ordinary people, but also by the sages of two eras.
