The development of history
Baoshan, named after the mountain. 14 12 years (the 10th year of Yongle in Ming dynasty), an earthen mountain was built on the seashore of China with artificial piles as a navigation symbol. In order to sail in and out of the Yangtze River estuary, Emperor Yongle named it Baoshan. This mountain collapsed into the sea in 1582 (the tenth year of the Ming Dynasty), but its name is still in use today.
Baoshan, originally from Jiangsu Province, was separated from Jiading County in 1742 (the second year of Yongzheng in Qing Dynasty) and was built as Baoshan County. When the county was established, it reached the Yangtze River in the east and north, Tianmu Road in Zhabei in the south, Jiejing and Yang Jing at the junction of Jiading in the west, Gao Qiao area east of Huangpu River in the southeast and Zhenru area in the southwest, with a length of 38 kilometers from east to west, a width of 4 1.5 kilometers from north to south and an area of 4 19 square kilometers. 1928 (Republic of China 17), seven towns, including Zhabei, Jiangwan, Yin Hang, Wusong, Peng Pu, Zhenru and Gao Qiao, were placed under the Shanghai Special City, and the border areas were halved. During the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression period after 1937 (in the 26th year of the Republic of China), the whole territory belonged to Shanghai, the area north of Zaobang was Baoshan District, the area south of Bangbang belonged to urban area (Jiangwan) and Shanghai North District, and Changxing belonged to Pudong North District. After War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression's victory, except for Dachang, which was placed overseas, the rest were compiled before the war and returned to Jiangsu Province, covering an area of about 200 square kilometers. After liberation, it was originally an administrative region in southern Jiangsu, and later it was assigned to Jiangsu Province.
1958, the whole territory belongs to Shanghai. In the same year, hengsha island merged with the northern suburbs, extending eastward and southward, reaching the east coast of hengsha island in the east and Guangzhong Road, Dalian West Road and Zoumatang Line in the south. The previously designated Jiangwan, Yin Hang, Wusong and Dachang were returned to Baoshan, covering an area of 443.64 square kilometers. 1960 set aside Wusong Town and both sides of Changjiang Road south of Zaobang to set up Wusong District. 1964 Wusong District was merged into Yangpu District.
