Huizhou No. 2 Middle School is located on the bank of Xizhi River in Caiyuandun, Qiaodong District, Huicheng District, across the river from Xiapu Riverside Park. It has a beautiful geographical environment and beautiful scenery. It was founded in September 1960.

Huizhou No. 2 Middle School was originally the junior high school class of Huizhou No. 1 Primary School and No. 2 Primary School. After merger and reorganization, it was officially established as "Huizhou Town Junior High School" in September 1960. The first principal was Wu Hao. , the teaching director Yang Shiliang, who was subsequently succeeded by Deng Cheng, Qiu Jie, and the general affairs director Gu Zhifang. When the No. 2 Middle School was first established, Comrade Zeng Ling, deputy secretary of the Municipal Party Committee, was appointed as the honorary principal. At that time, the school was small, with only 11 teaching classes and about 600 teachers and students (including about 40 teaching staff). Moreover, the school building is narrow, the equipment is simple, and the teachers are weak. There are only 11 classrooms in the school, one instrument room, one library, one basketball court, and joint offices of the subject groups. Most of the teachers are transferred from primary schools.

In the autumn of 1962, in order to implement the central government's eight-character policy of "adjustment, consolidation, enrichment and improvement", the school's teaching staff underwent major changes and a group of teachers were transferred from brother middle schools. In the 1960s, although the No. 2 Middle School building was relatively old and crude, and was also affected by the Cultural Revolution, the teachers and students of No. 2 Middle School were motivated and self-reliant. They spent a few months renovating a large area on the west side of the campus. Low-lying weeds and ponds were filled in and built into school sports fields. And he worked hard to study Chairman Mao's works and learn them flexibly. At that time, the No. 2 Middle School formed a lecture group, led by Vice Principal Huang Hushan (director of the Revolutionary Committee), to tour counties in Huiyang area to give lectures.
