Zhu Yuanzhang gave us the impression of a shoehorn face. What does he really look like?

Let's see what Zhu Yuanzhang looks like through historical records and portraits collected in museums.

"Famous Mountain Tibetan": "Ri Zhang is natural, with phoenix eyes and dragons, and its voice is like Hong Zhong, which is extremely strange."

It is said here that Zhu Yuanzhang is a "strange bone piercing the top", which is a term used by fortune tellers and refers to the "fu rhinoceros bone" protruding from his forehead.

"Renlun Datong Fu": "Tang Yin has bones, and those who go to heaven are called Tianzhu bones, and those who go from heaven to the top are called rhinoceros bones, all of which are three."

Simply put, anything with a rhinoceros bone hidden in it is a rich face.

Since ancient times, the portraits of emperors have been mainly realistic and beautified, but Zhu Yuanzhang is the most special.

Because his portraits are the most among the emperors of past dynasties, there may be only one or two other emperors.

Up to now, there are as many as twelve portraits of Zhu Yuanzhang in the National Palace Museum in Taipei, and thirteen in Beijing.

The most amazing thing is that if you put these thirteen portraits in front of you, you will never believe that they were painted by the same person!

Because the contents of these thirteen portraits are different, they are divided into two categories.

One of them was painted by the court painter who was in charge of painting for the court at that time, and it was mainly used for later generations. This kind of "imperial capacity", which was made into an official version by the people, consists of two pieces.

One of them is a full-length portrait sitting in a chair, with a height of 29 1.4 cm and a model of162.8cm.. Zhu Yuanzhang in this portrait is handsome, dignified, with regular facial features and heroic spirit.

The other is a bust, which should be a portrait of Zhu Yuanzhang in his later years, but through these two portraits, we can clearly realize that the people in these two paintings are definitely the same person.

Although Zhu Yuanzhang in the bust is old and has lost the heroic spirit of his youth, his eyes still reveal the strength of perseverance, and in this portrait, we can clearly see the "Fuxi bone" described in the above text, which is extremely rich.

In addition, there is a written record of "Ming Shan Zang". Regarding Zhu Yuanzhang's appearance, whether from the historical textual research, unearthed clothing cultural relics, or from the collection of museums, Zhu Yuanzhang in these two portraits should be the most authentic!

Other "visions" about Zhu Yuanzhang came from Nanxun Hall (a place dedicated to emperors of past dynasties), which was also false.

Because these portraits are obviously written by folk painters from rough painting methods.

And most of them were created in the late Ming Dynasty or the middle Qing Dynasty when Zhu Yuanzhang was buried.

So the true face of Zhu Yuanzhang is definitely not the face of folk rumors.
