1. Southwest Jiaotong University, formerly Tangshan Railway Institute, was founded in 1896, and is one of the five official jiaotong universities in China. There are three campuses: Jiuli, Xipu and Emei. The school covers an area of * * * 5,4 mu, with a total building area of 96, square meters. In 2, it was placed under the management of the Ministry of Railways and the Ministry of Education.
2. Beijing Jiaotong University, formerly Northern Jiaotong University and Beijing Railway Institute, was founded in 1896, and is one of the five official Jiaotong University in China. In 1917, it was reorganized into Beijing Railway Management School and Beijing Post and Telecommunications School. In 1921, it merged with Shanghai Industrial College and Tangshan Industrial College to form Jiaotong University. In 1923, after the reorganization of Jiaotong University, Beijing Branch was renamed Beijing Jiaotong University. In 195, the school was named Northern Jiaotong University. In April 2, it merged with Beijing Electric Power College and was placed under the management of the Ministry of Railways and the Ministry of Education. In 23, the school resumed using the name of "Beijing Jiaotong University".
3. Lanzhou Jiaotong University, formerly Lanzhou Railway Institute, was transferred to Gansu Province by the Ministry of Railways in 2. Founded in 1958, it was established by Tangshan Railway Institute (now Southwest Jiaotong University) and Beijing Railway Institute (now Beijing Jiaotong University). In 2, according to the overall planning of the country, the management system of "central and local governments build together, with local government management as the mainstay" was implemented. In 23, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, it was renamed Lanzhou Jiaotong University. After 5 years of construction and development, the school has now become a teaching and research university with coordinated development of multiple disciplines and distinctive school-running characteristics. The school campus covers an area of 1566 mu, with two campuses and a university science and technology park, forming a pattern of one school and three districts.
4. Changsha Railway Institute of Central South University, formerly known as Central South Institute of Civil Engineering and Architecture, was established in 1953. In 196, Changsha Railway Institute was established on the basis of some established departments and teaching and research offices, and it was under the Ministry of Railways. In 2, it merged with Central South University of Technology and Hunan Medical University to form Central South University, which was called the Railway Campus of Central South University and was managed by the Ministry of Education.
5. Shanghai West Campus of Tongji University, formerly Shanghai Railway Institute, merged with Shanghai Railway Medical College to form Shanghai Railway University in May 1995, and merged with Tongji University in April 2 to form a new Tongji University. The former Shanghai Railway University (headquarters) became Shanghai West Campus of Tongji University.
6. Dalian Jiaotong University, formerly Dalian Railway Institute, was founded in 1956 and was originally affiliated to the Ministry of Railways. In 2, it was placed under the management of Liaoning Province by the Ministry of Railways. In May 24, it was renamed Dalian Jiaotong University with the approval of the Ministry of Education.
7. East China Jiaotong University, on September 22, 1971, the State Council and the Central Military Commission jointly issued the Notice on the System Adjustment and Leadership Relations of Six Colleges and Universities, and decided to merge the Locomotive and Rolling Stock Department of Shanghai Jiaotong University and the Railway Engineering Department of Tongji University into Shanghai Railway Institute and move to Nanchang, Jiangxi (the relocation stopped two years later, so the Shanghai Railway Institute still exists), and changed its name to East China Jiaotong University. In 2, it was placed under the management of Jiangxi Province by the Ministry of Railways.
8. The former Nanjing Railway Medical College was formerly the Medical College of Central University, which was established in 1935, and was transformed into Nanjing Railway Medical College in 1958. In 2, it was merged into Southeast University and called Southeast University Medical College.
9. The former Suzhou Railway Teachers College, the only higher normal school directly under the Ministry of Railways, was formally established in 198 and moved to Shangfangshan in 1986. In 21, Suzhou Institute of Science and Technology was established with Suzhou Institute of Urban Construction and Environmental Protection, and managed by Jiangsu Province.
1. Shijiazhuang Railway Institute, founded in 195, was originally the Railway Corps Engineering College of the People's Liberation Army, which was a key institution of the whole army and the whole country at that time. In 1984, it was transferred to the Ministry of Railways and became Shijiazhuang Railway Institute. In 2, it was placed under the management of Hebei Province by the Ministry of Railways. On March 18th, 21, the Ministry of Education officially agreed to change the name of Shijiazhuang Railway Institute to shijiazhuang tiedao university. At this point, all railway institutes have withdrawn from the stage of history.
The second category is more than 3 technical secondary schools (junior colleges) under the former Ministry of Railways, which were actually entrusted to the Railway Bureau, Engineering Bureau and Locomotive Works for custody. All of them were placed under the local government by the Ministry of Railways, China Railway, China Railway Construction, China South Locomotive and CNR around 22, and some of them were merged into local universities, while others set up vocational and technical colleges.
The third category is the schools affiliated to the former Railway Bureau and Engineering Bureau, including secondary schools, technical schools, adult colleges and police schools. Most of them have been abolished since 25, and some adult colleges and police schools are still running.

The Party School of the Ministry of Railways was founded in 1955 as a cadre school of the Ministry of Railways. It was changed to the Party School of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Railways in 1961, abolished at the end of 1969 and resumed in 1975. In 1995, it merged with Beijing Railway Management Cadre College. It has become a base for training railway higher-level leading cadres in rotation, which integrates the functions of party school and cadre school.
