The most famous building in Heyang in the Yuan Dynasty is the "Bashi Gate". The ancestors of the Zhu family passed down the family tradition through farming, education, agriculture and business, and many talented people emerged and became rich. During the Song and Yuan dynasties, eight Jinshi scholars were produced, forming the "Yiyang School of Poetry". According to legend, the "Eight Scholars Gate" was built for this purpose. There is also a pair of headless stone lions in front of the "Eight Scholars Gate". The stone lions were donated by Zhu Yuanzhang and were named "Rare", which means that it is rare for a village in Heyang to have eight Scholars. The stone lion is still there today and has a history of more than 600 years. "Bashi Gate" is the main gate of Heyang Village. Historically, Heyang people have always believed that it is at the intersection of the "Five Dragons Robbery for Pearls" in Zhongfeng Mountain. It is extremely important in Feng Shui, so it is also called the "Bazi Gate" for the good fortune of the Bazi. Since then, people in Heyang have to go through the "Eight Scholars Gate" to marry their wives, daughters, and have funerals. This custom has been followed to this day. The existing village layout of one stream and two pits and one street and five lanes was designed in the Yuan Dynasty.
