Why is Golden Gate called Golden Gate?

Jinmen has been under the jurisdiction of Tongan County, Quanzhou Prefecture, Fujian Province since ancient times, and was established in the fourth year of the Republic of China (AD 19 15). Jinmen occupies an important position in Tongan County's history, and there is a saying that "no gold can't make silver" and "no gold can't make copper".

KinmenCounty (English: Kinmen County) (formerly Tongan County, Quanzhou Prefecture) was called Wuzhou and Zhouxian in ancient times. Located in Weitou Bay and Xiamen Bay in the southeast of Fujian Province, it is adjacent to the Taiwan Province Strait in the west, only 23 1 m away from Chinese mainland, outside the mouth of Jiulong River, facing Xiamen Island in the west, facing Taichung City across the Taiwan Province Strait in the east, facing Jinjiang City in Quanzhou in the north, 0/98 nautical miles from Keelung/kloc in the east, 82 nautical miles from Penghu in the southeast and 0/6 nautical miles from Kaohsiung/kloc.

In the 19th year of Zhenyuan in Tang Dezong (AD 83), it was a place for herding horses, and it was incorporated into Quanzhou in the Five Dynasties. 1965438+65438+2005 10, the county was officially established, which means "as solid as gold, Xiongzhen Town is Kaminokado". It belongs to Quanzhou City, Fujian Province, and its jurisdiction includes Jinmen Island, Xiaojinmen Island (archipelago), Dadan Island, Erdan Island, Dongqi Island and Beidan Island. In February 2004, the Jinmen-Xiamen route was opened and the "mini three links" began.
