The origin of the name of two-headed dog

Two-headed dog (Orthrus;; Serus is a monster in Greek mythology with a snake tail. It's a monster born of Ketonius monsters Ekdena and Tifeng.

Burroughs and Kamara are its brothers. Together with Kamara, they gave birth to the Sphinx Nick and Nemea.

It was brought up by the Titan God Glien. Together with Eurytion, it is responsible for guarding cattle on Teia Island, one of Hesperides islands in the western Mediterranean. But Hercules finally killed the two-headed dogs Eurysion and Gedean, and then took the cow away, completing his tenth heroic deed.
