What is the difference between a single board and a double board in a guitar?

The difference between single board and double board of guitar mainly lies in the production process, grain, components and timbre.

1, different manufacturing processes

Veneer: refers to the board formed by direct cutting of wood.

Double board: refers to the composite board, which is formed by vertically and horizontally pasting multiple thin plates together.

2. Different lines

Veneering: Irregular grain, caused by natural growth.

Double board: it is artificially compressed, indicating that the wood grain rules of wood-based panels are very regular.

3. Different components

Veneering: natural wood is used, and the internal structure is more natural and compact.

Double board: made of artificial wood (made of sawdust and powder by high pressure), and three layers of interlayer can be clearly seen on the sound hole.

4. Different timbres

Single board: the frequency of vibration will be richer and clearer than that of double board, with rich volume and balanced frequency response.

Double board: the frequency of vibration will be unnecessary loss and irregular, or the vibration will be uneven, resulting in the timbre of double board is not as good as that of single board.
