Introduction to the main contents of Preface to Tang Huairen's Collected Works: Tang Xuanzang began to translate scriptures after returning from the Tang Dynasty. Emperor Taizong personally prefaced it, and Prince Li Zhi took notes for it. Later, Huairen, a monk of Hongfu Temple in Chang 'an, collected five words from the ink of Wang Xizhi's running script in Tang Dynasty, such as Taizong Preface, Ji Taizi, Taizong Answer, Jian Taizi Answer and Xuanzang's Translation of Heart Sutra.
In the third year of Emperor Gaozong (AD 672), Zhuge Shen, Li Leshi and Zhu Jingzang carved it and put it on a stone. This tablet has 30 lines, ranging from 83 words to 88 words. It is more than three meters high and 1.4 meters wide. There are seven Buddha statues carved on the head of the monument, so the monument is also called "Preface to seven buddha". Now this monument is in the forest of steles in Xi 'an.
Wang Xizhi's Calligraphy Work "Preface to the Holy Teaching"
Preface to the Holy Religion is the full name of Preface to the Holy Religion in Tang Sanzang, written by Emperor Taizong. Later, Shaman Huairen collected words from Wang Xizhi's calligraphy and carved them into inscriptions, which were called "Preface to Tang Youjun" or "Preface to Wang Xizhi of Huairen". Because there are seven Buddha statues carved horizontally at the head of the tablet, it is also called "Preface to seven buddha".
Ji Wang Huai Ren's Preface to the Holy Teaching has a profound historical and humanistic background, that is, the thought of worshipping the king in the early Tang Dynasty and the top-down calligraphy style in the Tang Dynasty, which played a very important role in the prosperity of Buddhism in the Tang Dynasty. Huairen collects Wang Xizhi's ink,
It is composed and arranged by borrowing, enlarging and shrinking. The inscription has the characteristics of many words, many fonts and high level of inscription. It is an important carrier for studying Wang Xizhi's calligraphy in the existing inscriptions, and it has also become a model for future generations to learn from Wang Zi.
