But as a designer, it is absolutely impossible for a resume to be explained by words. In particular, many designers' text resumes are actually inconspicuous, but they practice hard and have the ability to make drawings, but they can't even get through the basics.
A good work is worth a thousand words!
If a resume is a stepping stone, then an excellent resume is the key to entering a big factory.
First, why use PDF?
So, how do we present the portfolio? PDF is recommended here. Personal website, design homepage, folder and PPT are all unreasonable forms, so I won't go into details.
Just talk about the advantages of PDF:
Can accommodate all works at once;
Good browsing experience, just scroll up and down;
Canvas with different lengths can be spliced;
Easy social software;
Small occupation scale;
It can be uploaded to the recruitment website.
This browsing experience is definitely better than the above-mentioned methods, and it is also one of the compulsory courses for us to apply for a good browsing experience for resumes.
Second, the creation of oil painting
First of all, do a good job in the standard pages of your resume, such as cover page, navigation page, personal information and so on. And then make an exhibition of the work.
Whether you use PS, AI or Sketch, it should be noted that we can use PPT as the standard page, and the length and width of the page are the same, but the work display page is not.
Many designers think that exporting PDF requires PPT first, and then exporting it from PPT software, so all pages can only be limited to the height of PPT, which is very unfavorable for display. It seems no problem to put apps or icons on the same page, but what should I do if I encounter a display page? There are other things that need to be represented by a long picture, and they cannot be forcibly cut open.
Therefore, to make a standard PDF resume, we can use a uniform width when creating all the page canvases, and the height of the standard pages is consistent, while the work content can be freely changed according to the actual design.
When it comes to width, you can get a good PDF browsing experience by controlling the width to the content width of a standard web page, that is, between 920 and 1280. If you use the width of 1920, it will not only be troublesome to make, but also cause the whole file to be too large.
Third, the export of pictures.
After the content is finished, pay attention to how the pictures are exported. This step is very important to ensure that the final PDF file is small.
Many people will create a PDF and then compress it with the PDF compression tool of the webpage, but the actual effect is very poor. We only do PDF. We should compress the bitmap first and then synthesize the PDF.
Among all the effects of compressing bitmaps, the best one is "export to Web format" in ps.
If it is not made of PS, it is necessary to export the PNG of the original image in other software, and then export the Web format with PS. During the export process, you should select the "JPG" format and adjust the picture quality slider.
It depends on your own judgment, but if there are many pictures, except for the important cover and picture page, it is recommended to set it below 60.
In this way, the final generated picture quality and volume are the most balanced and ideal.
Fourth, generate PDF.
The last step is to generate a PDF file or use PS.
Open file-automatic PDF presentation options in PS.
Select all the picture contents we want to compose in the browse (remember to name them in order), and then click Save.
In the new panel, set the pixel sampling to "72" and then control the image quality. If the content is not too much, you can use the default best. If there is a lot of content, choose and so on.
Select Save PDF to merge and export content.
abstract
So much for the introduction of how to make PDF. You can try it yourself and try to make a portfolio with a better experience.
