How to choose a good hound breed?

Mainly look at several aspects:

1, text

Try to choose a dog that is longer than height, thinner waist, wider chest and muscular. When choosing a dog, you should grasp the fur of the dog, not too loose, and the skin should be close to the meat and not thin. Bone ilium should be strong and symmetrical, with large bone mass, wide sternum ilium and strong leg ilium.

2, limbs

Limbs should be slender and toes should be closed. This is called garlic hoof. When running, you should be extremely light, and your toes will touch the ground like dragonflies. The front legs should stand like arches from the front, not too tight or too open. If it's too tight, it won't attack its prey, and if it's too open, it won't run fast. The same is true of the hind legs, only slightly closer than the front legs and slightly forward.

3. Teeth (plural of tooth)

For puppies over 2 months old, their teeth are basically white, and they can't have flesh-red tips or roots. Especially canine teeth should be sharp and slender. Generally speaking, the canine teeth of a local dog are two on each side of the upper canine teeth and one on each side of the lower canine teeth. The open canine teeth are upright, slightly bent inward, and are concave and convex when occluding. The best local dogs have one or two more canine teeth. When the mouth is open, the canine teeth incline inward like barbs and cross like scissors when biting. As a hound, you should definitely choose this kind of dog with teeth, or at least have scissors to bite.

4. Tongue

Dogs rely on their tongues to dissipate heat. The bigger their tongues are, the faster they dissipate heat. When dogs exercise, their tongues stick out, and the bigger and longer the spit, the stronger their endurance and drought resistance. There is a dog with blue patches on its tongue, which is the best. According to the experience of the older generation, the flower tongue has strong disease resistance and is not afraid of rabies, followed by bright red round tongue.

5. Mouth and nose

The shorter the mouth, the wider the better, but it must be sharp. When you shut up, the upper and lower skin are tightly closed, or the upper pocket covers the lower skin, and the inner lip meat should be bright red. Be careful that your mouth must be sharp, not straight and square. Although the bite force of the mouth that is too short and too flat is strong, the impact force is not high. Only the short and sharp mouth bites which one, the hit rate is extremely high and the bite force is strong. Ask the coquettish dog to choose a red nose, and the headhunter to choose Darkmouth's black nose.

6. Eyes

Eyes should be slightly concave, triangular, with long corners and bare eyes. Only this kind of dog is born independent, fierce, fearless and brave. Never have eyes that are too round or too prominent. This kind of dog is neither fierce nor timid.

7. Ears

The roots of the ears should be high, the ears should be small and erect, and the hearing will be sensitive. Of course, some places are mostly big-eared dogs, so try to choose semi-vertical ears and high ears. ?

8.tail

Choose a dog with its tail cocked high, preferably with its back to it, and it will not droop no matter what danger it encounters. This kind of dog is bold and vicious.

9. Head and face

The whole face of a dog doesn't have to be fierce, but it must be. There should be a deep and long ditch in the middle of the forehead, which is the so-called rotten road. The longer the better, the better it extends from the tip of the nose to the back of the head. This dog has a keen sense of smell.

10, personality

It is difficult for a puppy to see its character, so when choosing a dog, it is necessary to use the owner's feeding. The first is to see which puppy is fierce in grabbing food. The second is to throw a lit firecracker two meters away from the puppy when the puppy eats one third. If any puppy is only frightened after firecrackers sound, then it is absolutely correct to choose it. If the puppy comes out in fear after firecrackers, or never eats food again, then this kind of dog is not suitable for training as a hound.
