Before the Sino-Japanese War, the Qing Dynasty sent Li Hongzhang to Japan. After the talks, the two sides held a joint press conference. The Japanese strengthened their national strength through the Meiji Restoration, not only to show off their strength in front of the world, but also to surpass the Qing Dynasty in culture. After the reporters gathered, the Japanese side had a China hand, which was extremely arrogant. Suddenly an irrelevant question was raised: "China's manpower is not good, and his writing style is not so good." Just finished writing, this day I took out the couplet written on the white silk and read it. It read: Riding a strange horse, Zhang Longgong, playing the pipa, the eight heavenly kings, living side by side on their heads and fighting alone. The Japanese's provocation to the Shanglian League is obvious, and its content clearly shows the idea of aggression. Japanese soldiers are strong, and China can defeat them "alone". Everyone knows that Li Hongzhang did not show weakness. He first asked the Japanese side to prepare an inkstone to grind ink, then spread white silk, and then wrote down couplets with a stroke of a pen: Japanese People's Committee, dragon suit, enchanting shadow, four little kids, kneeling beside them, hand in hand. Many reporters cheered when they saw it. The second couplet means that the Japanese are pirates, who come to steal the dragon clothes of Qing Dynasty. Eight kings become four imps, harps become ghosts, their heads become knees side by side, and fighting with one hand becomes grasping with the other. Since then, people have called the Japanese aggressors "devils" instead of "Japanese pirates".
The first part: riding a strange horse, pulling a long bow, playing the piano and playing the pipa, the eight heavenly kings live side by side on their heads and fight alone.
The second part: Japanese Committee, dragon suit, ghosts and ghosts, four little devils, kneeling beside each other and grasping with both hands.
