The staff of the Korea Forest Agency said that due to the recent dry and windy weather, the risk of mountain fires is increasing, reminding the public to take precautions.
There are several ways for the government to put out mountain fires: First, direct lighting. This is the most commonly used fire extinguishing method, using an iron broom or wet branches to extinguish the fire directly, from mountain to mountain, along the edge of the fire until the flame goes out. When fighting, you should hit the flame obliquely from the outside of the fire line, so that you can tap it, drag it for a dozen times, or roll it for a few times. Don't go straight up and down, or fall violently, so as not to fan the wind, cause sparks to fly and add fuel to the fire. Firefighters can fight in groups of three, one after another.
Second, there must be a main direction, that is, to combat the fire. Only when the fire is put out can the fire be controlled. In particular, the downwind fire head should be equipped with enough strength to mobilize a professional team with actual fire fighting experience to crack down on the fire head. Especially for fire heads that may burn a large number of trees, we should concentrate our superior forces and fight along both sides of the fire head, gradually reducing the fire head and width until it is extinguished.
Third, when the fire line is burned into an arc or other shapes, the "nibbling method" is used to extinguish the fire. Take a step forward, break through more points, and do it in sections. The two ends of each section are clamped to form a pincer to prevent it from spreading and expanding, and gradually shorten the fire line until the fire is put out. This method is gradual and steady.
Fourth, when the fire line burns straight, the front line is long. In order to seize the time to put out the fire in time, the manpower must be divided into several groups, and the fire line should be cut into two or more sections, and both ends of each section should be clamped.
Fifth, to fight a mountain fire, we must fight it in two ways along the direction of the fire head and move forward in order until we meet. Never intercept head-on, it's dangerous and prone to accidents. To put out the mountain fire, we must seize the time to put it out quickly. When we go down the mountain, we must attack the fire head first, from both sides of the fire head. If it is a good place to close the mountain for afforestation and there are many combustibles, you must hit it step by step from the side, and you must never hit it condescendingly, which is very dangerous and easy to slip and cause personal injury or death.
