The film Eight Sons is set in the autumn of 1934, when the fifth counter-campaign of the Red Army entered the most difficult period. It tells the story of the platoon leader Yang Daniu (Shao Bing) who led the whole platoon of soldiers, including the youngest brother Man Zai (Liu Duanduan), through several fierce battles outnumbered and fought with the enemy to the last minute and the last man.
