Life habits

Color varieties
Currently, there are only three varieties of cockatiel parrots raised in China: gray, floral and white (there are some hybrid varieties)
1. The gray cockatiel's body feathers are blue-gray, its head has light yellow crest feathers, its beak is black and gray, its top of the head, forehead, lower body and throat are all light yellow, its cheeks have orange round patches, its upper body and chest The belly is blue-gray, the outer coverts of both wings are white (some also have white patches on the back and wings), the tail feathers are black-gray, and the central tail feathers are particularly long. The legs are dark gray.
2. The Pied Cockatiel has bluish-gray body feathers and yellow patches all over its body. Others resemble gray cockatiels.
3． The white cockatiel has white body feathers, a light yellow crest on its head, and an ivory white beak. The head, cheeks, lower jaw and upper throat are all light yellow, with orange round patches on the cheeks. The feet are flesh pink.
Species Characteristics
The feathers of Xuanfeng are generally medium gray, with lighter color on the lower part of the body, orange cheeks, and large white feather spots on the wings. Female cockatiels have a row of yellow dots under their wings, but males do not. Some other species of mutations exist, such as the Lutino phoenix, which has pale yellow feathers. Female Lutino phoenixes also have spotted tail feathers. Both males and females have yellow facial feathers: female cockatiels have yellow fur around their beak and eyes, while male cockatiels have yellow feathers on most of their heads and on the front of their crests. The ability of male cockatiels to protect and nurse their offspring is very strong among known birds. If the female bird is unable to nurse her offspring for some reason, the male bird will be responsible for raising the chicks.
