1. Basic posture
First of all, you must master the basic posture before sliding: your feet are spread equal to the width of your shoulders, and your knees are slightly bent. Lift both hands and place them directly in front of you to achieve body balance. The center of gravity should be placed in front of your body. If the terrain is flat, stand with your feet parallel. If the ground is sloped, stand with your feet in a V shape to maintain body stability.
2. V-shaped walk
After you have basically mastered the standing posture, you must step forward consciously before gliding. Start with the toes in a V-shaped basic position and slowly cross each other step by step. At the same time, stretch your hands forward to achieve balance and slide without destroying the V-shaped balance posture. Slide forward step by step, placing your weight on one foot and bending your knee.
3. How to fall to the ground
The direction of falling to the ground is basically forward. First, get on your knees, then your hands. However, when stopping sliding, if your hands suddenly open and your body faces forward, you cannot stop immediately. The correct method is to put your hands on the ground and stretch your knees forward together with your body in a straight line. If your hands touch the ground first, your own weight will rest on your shoulders, which can easily cause injury. Usually, you can wear good-quality sheaths and practice the correct falling method of landing on your knees, hands, and elbows one after another.
4. Basic method of standing up
To stand up after falling to the ground, first, place your knees on the ground in a knee-supported state. You can stand up on both left and right knees, put your hands on the upright knees, stretch your upper body forward, and press your knees with both hands to stand up. If the movement range is too large, it is easy to fall backwards. When standing up, do not be too violent and do it slowly.
5. Basic gliding method
When practicing gliding, you can start from the initial steps. Extend your walk and do some slow motion. Starting from the basic posture, after maintaining balance on the upper body, move forward in small steps by kicking your feet alternately. In order to achieve body balance, stretch your hands forward and bend them slightly. When you first start, take small steps. Swing one foot backward and slide with the other foot carrying the body. Once you become proficient, take bigger steps. Stabilize your body on one foot and stay there for a longer period of time. After mastering all the essentials, the skating speed will naturally increase.
6. Basic stopping methods
In order to avoid collision accidents, it is important to master the stopping method. The heel stop method is the most basic stopping method. One of the heel parts of the inline skates is equipped with a rubber brake, which acts as a brake as long as it touches the ground. First, after starting, move your feet forward in parallel. Then, extend the skate equipped with the brake slightly forward, and slowly lift the toes up so that the brake on the heel can touch the ground. At this time, slowly press your weight on the brake, and the brake will work. Hold this position until you stop.
