Yangshao Culture:
The Yangshao Culture is an important Neolithic painted pottery culture in the middle reaches of the Yellow River. It lasted from about 5000 BC to 3000 BC (i.e. from today About 7000 to 5000 years ago, lasting about 2000 years), distributed throughout the middle reaches of the Yellow River from today's Gansu Province to Henan Province.
The Yangshao culture was first discovered at the Yangshao Village site in Mianchi County, Henan Province. The Yangshao Village ruins are located in Yangshao Township, Mianchi County, 10 kilometers away from the county seat. The terrain is high in the north and low in the south, in the shape of a gentle slope. There are deep ditches on the east and west sides of the site. It is surrounded by Shaoshan Mountain in the north and water on three sides in the east, west and south.
