What are the folk stories of the Zhuang people in Guangxi?

About the bronze drum, the Zhuang people have this legend: In ancient times, a young man went to Longtan to herd ducks. In the blink of an eye, both the man and the ducks disappeared. His father went to look for him with a knife. When he saw that his son and the duck had been killed by the monster, he killed the little monster and set fire to the monster's house. The old demon couldn't defeat the old man, so he dug a hole from the dragon pool to the old man's bed and tried to drown the sleeping old man. When the water flowed to the hole under the bed, it was blocked by a copper pot. The old demon tried his best to defeat the old man, so he had no choice but to flee. From then on, he never dared to cause trouble again. The old man saw that copper pots could ward off evil spirits, so he made many of them, attached them with wings, and went around to quell evil and disasters. In the end, not even a single pot was left. The Zhuang family searched everywhere, and finally found it in a hilly field. Someone was banging a copper pot, and people were dancing happily to the sound of "dong-dong" music. Later, people changed the copper pot into a bronze drum, and the dance accompanied by the bronze drum was called bronze drum.

Liu Sanjie is a figure in Zhuang folklore. Its legend was first seen in "Sanmei Mountain" in Volume 98 of "Yu Di Ji Sheng" by Wang Xiangzhi of the Southern Song Dynasty. Since the Ming and Qing Dynasties, there have been many literary records about her legends and ballads. The stories and songs passed down orally among Zhuang people are even richer.

It is said that Sister Liu Sanjie was a peasant girl of the Zhuang ethnic group in the Tang Dynasty. She was very smart at a young age and was regarded as a "goddess". At the age of twelve, he was able to read the Sutras, point to objects, sing songs, and speak immediately. He composes and sings his own songs, and his songs are like springs, beautiful and moving, without losing the rhythm, so he is known as the "Singing Fairy". When he was fifteen years old, he was hired by the Lin family. In the tenth year of Kaiyuan of the Tang Dynasty (722), in order to resist the Lin family's forced marriage, he ran away with his lover Zhang Weiwang and ended up unknown. Folks mostly thought that both of them became immortals and left. According to the legend of the Zhuang people in Yishan, Guangxi, Liu Sanjie was born in the first year of Shenlong (705) of Emperor Zhongzong of the Tang Dynasty. She was very smart and good at singing since she was a child. At the age of 12, he was already well-spoken, witty, and famous in his hometown with his songs. Later he went to various places nearby to spread his songs. There was an endless stream of people who came to sing duets with her, but it could take as short as one day or as long as three or five days. They were all dumbfounded, had no words to sing to each other, had no words to answer, and retreated in shame. However, her talent was hated by the gangsters and bullies, and she was later killed in Liuzhou. Legend has it that after her death, she rode a carp to heaven and became an immortal. Some people also say that she turned to stone in seven days while singing a duet with a boy named Baihe in Xishan, Guixian County. Others said that the rich man Mo Huairen wanted to marry her as his concubine, but the third sister resolutely resisted. Mo Huairen bribed the government to persecute the third sister, and the third sister drifted away on a boat, etc.

It is said that in the Tang Dynasty, there was a beautiful small mountain village on the shore of Tiandong at the junction of Luocheng and Yizhou. There is a Zhuang girl named Liu Sanjie in the village. Her parents died when she was young, and she is raised by her brother Liu Er. The two siblings make a living by collecting firewood and fishing, and they depend on each other. The third sister is not only hard-working and intelligent, but also praised by everyone for her skill in spinning and weaving. She also looks like a hibiscus and has an extraordinary appearance. She is especially good at singing folk songs. Her folk songs are so famous that singers from far and near often gather in her village to compete with her to sing duets and learn songs. Liu Sanjie often sang folk songs to express the voices and injustices of the poor, which offended the interests of the local tyrants and evil gentry. The local rich man Mo Huairen was greedy for her beauty and wanted to take her as his concubine. He was rejected and ridiculed by her, and he held a grudge. Mo tried to ban the song, but was refuted by Liu Sanjie with folk songs, and his words were poor. He also invited three scholars to sing duets with Liu Sanjie, but was made ugly by Liu Sanjie and others, and returned in defeat. Mo Huairen became so angry that he did not hesitate to spend his family wealth to collude with the government. He gritted his teeth and put Liu Sanjie to death. In order to avoid being poisoned, the third sister and her brother, with the help of the villagers, took advantage of the darkness to take a bamboo raft and went straight down the Tianhe River to the Longjiang River and then into the Liujiang River. They came to Liuzhou and found themselves at the east foot of Liyu Peak next to Xiaolongtan Village. Living in small caves. It is said that after arriving in Liuzhou, Liu Er, the loyal and honest brother of the third sister, was afraid that the third sister would cause trouble by singing again, so he tried every means to stop her. One day, he finally figured out a way. He picked up a round and thick pebble from the river and threw it to the third sister. He said: "Third sister, use the corner of your handkerchief to drill a hole in the middle of the stone and put the handkerchief through it!" If you can't get through, you won't be allowed to go out to sing!" Then he added with a livid face: "I'll tell you the truth, no joke." First, the third sister smiled sweetly, looking at her brother's face. Angry, Na Na still dared to argue as usual, picked up the stone thrown in front of her, and thought to herself: "I'm not a god, how can the corner of the handkerchief fit through?" She tried it on subconsciously, and sang: Gefa Damn, give me a rock to wear on my sister; how can soft cloth pass through a rock? Unless the ordinary girl becomes a fairy! "Whether you are a mortal or a god, I will never change my word for you!" My brother seemed to have been weighed down - he was determined. I thought to myself: This trick is amazing enough, is it still difficult for you? Painting

Unexpectedly, the sad and melodious singing voice of the third sister reached the sky and reached the ears of the seven fairies of the Heavenly Palace. The Seventh Fairy was very moved and feared that the third sister's song would be lost forever, so she cast a spell, took out a hairpin from her hair, flung her sleeves and shot at the stone in the hand of the mortal third sister Liu, without missing a beat, and penetrated the stone into a round hole. Hole. The third sister accidentally saw the handkerchief passing through the stone. She was secretly happy and opened her sweet voice: Hey... wear it and wear it, the softness can overcome just what the heart likes. The song is like the torrential Liujiang water, everlasting and everlasting! From then on, Sister Liu Sanjie's singing echoed back to the top of Yufeng Mountain and in the treetops, and a steady stream of people came here to learn how to sing. Later, the third sister's traces in Liuzhou were detected by Mo Huairen. He also bribed the government with a lot of money and sent many officers and soldiers to surround Liyufeng with a menacing intention to capture and kill the third sister. After hearing the news, villagers from Xiaolongtan Village and nearby areas rushed over with hoes and sticks in hand and fought with the officers and soldiers to save the third sister.

The third sister couldn't bear to cause the villagers to bleed and be implicated, so she resolutely jumped from the mountain into the Xiaolong Pond... Just as Third Sister Liu jumped, a strong wind suddenly blew up and the sky became dark. Following a ray of red light, a big golden carp rushed out of Xiaolongtan, carried the third sister on its back, and flew up into the clouds. Liu Sanjie rode a fish to heaven and became a singer in the heavenly palace. And her folk songs are still sung by people from generation to generation. In order to commemorate her achievements in spreading singing in Liuzhou, people built a stone statue of her in Sanjie Rock in Liyu Peak and has been worshiping her ever since.
