How to treat some monks' breaking the precepts?
Emergency help-help Li Xinyang, a patient with hematological diseases (click to enter)! ! ! Reporter: There are often netizens who are very angry with some monks for breaking the precepts. For example, a mage in Guangdong is a Buddhist monk, a certain Rinpoche in Tibet and his female disciple … even some Buddhist disciples are still upset about this, and even always write articles in their blogs. In fact, it did not help us practice, but increased our anger, slackness and suspicion (and made the general public lose confidence in Buddhism), and even committed the great crime of slandering monks because they did not know the truth. In fact, both monks and laymen are Buddhist practitioners. Before they become bodhisattvas, they will inevitably make mistakes, and their karma will be borne by themselves. So, as a Buddhist disciple, how should we treat these things? The following is the enlightenment of Tzu Chi Luozhu Kampo at the Five-Ming Buddhist College in Larong. I often encounter this situation now. For example, when some laymen first came into contact with a guru, they thought the guru was very good, and then they stopped to accept some initiation and secret methods. Later, for various reasons, they had a negative view of the guru and even a bad attitude. There was a conflict between master and apprentice, and then they were all worried about whether they had violated the secret training or something. Many people come to ask this question. I talked about this question before in the topic of Master Kong and Enlightenment. Most of you have read this article and listened to the lecture, but you may not remember it once. Therefore, we must not take it lightly in this regard. There is a more serious problem. I have met some people who used to study Buddhism more devoutly. They used to think that their guru or Taoist friend was very, very good. Later, when they saw some personal misconduct, they were very disappointed, so they stopped learning Buddhism. How to choose between these problems? First of all, I want to explain that no ordinary person's whole behavior can represent Buddhism, which we must admit. If anyone must represent Buddhism, I think: Guanyin Bodhisattva can represent the compassion of Buddhism; Manjushri can represent the wisdom of Buddhism. Besides, Buddhism can't be represented by ordinary people, so it can't be generalized. It is a great mistake to accuse Buddhism or Tibetan Buddhism because of personal bad behavior and then stop learning Buddhism! Sakyamuni Buddha is omniscient. He has thought about this problem for a long time, so he told us that the standard of judging right and wrong is not to rely on people according to law. If you find anything wrong with Buddhism, you can say that I thought Buddhism was very good at first, but I found something wrong with Buddhism, so I stopped learning Buddhism. If so, you have a point. You don't have to learn Buddhism. However, it is unreasonable to stop studying Buddhism because of the behavior of a guru or a Taoist friend of King Kong. The actions of the guru and Taoist King Kong are their personal actions and cannot represent Buddhism or Tibetan Buddhism. We must distinguish this clearly. If you want to learn Buddhism, you can study hard by yourself, regardless of the right or wrong of others. Don't treat people who call themselves masters and living buddhas as buddhas easily in the future. It is completely correct and reasonable for a guru like Ruyibao, the French king, to become a Buddha, but those lesser-known living buddhas, gurus and Kampo can neither become buddhas casually, nor can they be vilified as buddhas by a slight mistake. If you feel the need to stop, observe slowly in the process of contact according to Tantric requirements. Tantric itself has a clear rule: a guru must observe for twelve years. Tantra talked a lot about the standards of the guru. According to these standards, we should observe carefully for twelve years. Only by meeting these standards can we stop. After stopping, you can't produce any Jaken. Once you have produced Jaken, you can't make great progress in your own practice. Of course, when I stopped the French king Ruyibao before, I didn't observe it for 12 years, and you may not have observed it for 12 years. It is no problem not to observe a guru like the French king Ruyibao. This is our good luck and blessing, because we met a rare good guru. However, it is hard to say whether everyone has such good luck, so we think: we must observe first, and then go to the teacher; If there is no need to stop, we will not observe other people's faults. Others have shortcomings or advantages that may not be observed in the short term. Even if they can be observed, they will not help our practice. Learning Buddha is the act of learning Buddha, not learning from Taoist friends or others. It is their fault that the Taoist friends of the guru or King Kong are not good, not the fault of Buddhism. All this is our own fault-we didn't observe it according to Tantric requirements before; Now, if you denigrate the Tantric Sect, you may never be able to practice the secret method, but you can only practice the centrifugal method and bodhicitta method. So we must be very careful on this issue. Recommended reading: Why does Maitreya have a big belly?
