What does birthday mean?

Birthday, or eight characters, is actually another way of saying the four pillars of Zhouyi. Four pillars refer to the time when a person was born, that is, year, month, day and hour. When people use "heavenly stem" and "earthly branch" to represent year, month, day and hour respectively, such as Jiazi Year, Shen Bingyue, Guichou Day and Renyin Time, it contains the basic state of celestial movement when a person is born. There are two words in each column and eight characters in four columns, so fortune telling is also called "measuring eight characters" According to the relationship between yin and yang attributes and the five elements of heaven and earth, it is inferred that human body is responsible and blessed.

Always say

In order to get the correct time of birth, the sundial is the most accurate measurement during the day. When the clock time is the artificial average time and the regional standard, it is necessary to calculate the "apparent solar time difference" according to the solar terms (ecliptic) and the "local longitude time difference" according to the place of birth, so as to get the real astronomical birth time.

In the eight characters, the annual and daily branches are continuous and true; The branch of month and time is calculated according to the branch of year and day, which can be said to be virtual.

Birthday can only reflect the date of a person's birth at most, so it is not too much to record the time. Some people use birthdays to tell fortune, which is very unreliable. Because a person's fate is influenced by many conditions, besides the weather, there are also restrictions on the region and people he grew up in. Coupled with the different opportunities, how much can the influence of birth time account for?

Four-column eight-character arrangement

Four pillars refer to the year, month, day and time when a person was born. Four-column arrangement refers to finding a person's date of birth. It is mainly divided into four steps.

Chronological column

Chronicle, that is, the year when a person was born, is expressed by stem and branch. Note that the dividing line between last year and next year is based on the intersection time of beginning of spring, not on the first day of the first month. For example, someone was born at 22: 00 on February 4, 2000 in the solar calendar. Since the lunar calendar was handed over to beginning of spring at 20: 32 on February 4, 2000, this person's date is the year of Chen Geng in 2000, not 1999.

The general algorithm of chronological column: the numbers from A to the deck of the sky stem correspond to 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 0, 1, 2, 3 respectively, and the numbers from the ground branch to Hai correspond to 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10,1respectively. One year's trunk algorithm takes the last digit as the trunk, and the ground branch is the remainder of one year divided by 12. Take 1978 as an example, the last digit of 1978 is 8, the stem is E, and the remainder when 1978 is divided by 12 is 10, and the corresponding branch is noon, so 1978 is the year of Wuwu.

Simple algorithm of chronology: the premise of this method is to know which zodiac year it is, which is generally used for fast calculation in recent years. Take 2009 as an example. As we all know, 2009 is the Year of the Ox. Since it is a cow, the earthly branches are of course ugly, and the last nine years of 2009 correspond to heavenly stems, so 2009 is an ugly year.

Moon column

Moon column, that is, the festival in which the stems and branches represent the date of birth. Note that the monthly branch is not divided by the first day of each month in the lunar calendar, but by festivals. Before the handover, it was the festival of last month, and after the handover, it was the festival of next month.

1 month (silver moon) from beginning of spring to Jingzhe, February (Uzuki) from Jingzhe to Qingming, March (Chen Yue) from Qingming to long summer, April (Mitsuki) from long summer to awning, May (noon) from awning to light summer, June (non-month) from light summer to beginning of autumn, and July (Shen Yue) from beginning of autumn. Monthly trunk and annual trunk branches refer to 1 chart and monthly table. If the annual stem is a or self, then the stem in the first month of that year is C Yin; If the annual stem is B or G, the stem in the first month of that year is Wuyin; If the annual work is C or Xin, the work in the first month of that year is Geng Yin; If the annual stem is Ding or Ren, then the stem in the first month of that year is Ren Yin; If the year's work is the Reform Movement of 1898 or the year's work in the first month of that year is Jiayin.

Sun ranks

It has been a long time since February of the third year of Lu Yingong (722 BC). This is by far the longest way to record a day known to human society.

The solar column, that is, the day when a person was born, is represented by branches of the lunar calendar. The main branch's calendar is recorded every 60 days. Because the month is different from the leap year, the main branch needs to find a perpetual calendar (an online perpetual calendar website: site.baidu.com/list/wannianli.htm).

In addition, the dividing line between day and day is divided by hours, that is, before eleven o'clock is the hour of the previous day and after eleven o'clock is the hour of the next day, so don't think that midnight is the dividing point of a day.

Timetable column

Time series, with branches indicating the time of birth. One hour spans two hours, so there are twelve hours in a day.

Please refer to the daily schedule in Figure 2 for daily trunk lines and branch lines. If the daily work is Jia or himself, then the daily work is Jia; If the trunk of the day is B or G, the trunk of the day is C; If the Japanese stem is C or Xin, the Japanese stem is Wuzi; If the daily work is Ding or Ren, the daily work is Geng Zi; If a day's work is e or decyl, then a day's work is not nut.
