There are related theories in ancient and modern China and foreign countries, such as Taiyi Shenshu, Daoism, Liu Ren Shenke, Jing Fang Yi and Zi Ping, all of which belong to heavenly stems and earthly branches of Zhou Tianxue. Lao Guo Xingzong, Zheng Qi Yusi, Wei Zi, plum blossom easy number, western astrology, etc., belong to the celestial star wall; Zhouyi, which belongs to the natural cycle of Yi-ology, etc.
Early mathematicians participated in the study of mathematical mysticism. For example, Pythagoras thinks that mathematics can explain everything in the world. He believes that all truths can be reflected and confirmed by comparison, square and right triangle. St Augustine wrote, "Numbers are the universal language provided by God to prove the truth".
But modern mathematics no longer regards it as a part of mathematics, but as pseudo-mathematics. This historic change in the relationship between numerology and mathematics is similar to astrology to astronomy or alchemy to chemistry.
