Zhongwei is located at the junction of Ningxia, Inner Mongolia and Gansu provinces in the middle and west of Ningxia, and borders Hongsibao District, Tongxin County and Qingtongxia City in wuzhong, Ningxia in the east. It is connected with Yuanzhou District and Xiji County in Guyuan City, Ningxia in the south, Pingchuan District, Jingyuan County, Huining County and Jingtai County in Baiyin City, Gansu Province in the west, and Alashan Zuo Qi in Alashan League, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region in the north.
The ground span of the central defender is east longitude 104 degrees 17 minutes-106 degrees 10 minutes, and north latitude is 36 degrees 09 minutes -37 degrees 43 minutes. After the Qin Dynasty merged with the six countries, General Meng Tian led 300,000 foot soldiers and took the land north and south of the Yellow River before bringing the central defender into the centralized territory. In the twenty-sixth year of the first emperor (22 1 BC), the Qin Dynasty established Beidi County, to which Zhongwei belonged. In the second year of Emperor Gaozu of the Western Han Dynasty (205 BC), he conquered Beidi County, restored the fortress along the river and built a city in Zhongwei.
