The establishment process of revolutionary history memorial hall in Xifeng concentration camp

1927, Chiang Kai-shek launched the "April 12th" counter-revolutionary coup, arrested many influential figures and progressives, and detained them in the "military prison" of Nanjing Kuomintang. 1937 During the July 7th Incident, the Japanese invaders invaded China on a large scale, and Nanjing was in danger. Chiang Kai-shek passively resisted Japan and actively opposed the Communist Party, which led the military to transfer these people to Wuhan, then to Yiyang, Hunan, and finally to Xifeng for detention. Xifeng concentration camp was established from June 1938 to July1946, and has held more than 220 progressives in succession. Hundreds of revolutionaries gave their precious lives here for the cause of national liberation. Xifeng concentration camp consists of Yanglangba headquarters and Xuantiandong prison on the nearby mountain. Yanglangba headquarters covers an area of about 2 square kilometers and has 8 buildings and 43 prisons. Prison houses are named after loyalty, filial piety, benevolence, faithfulness and harmony, among which "righteousness" is a women's prison. The prisoners are mainly arrested members, anti-Japanese generals and patriotic celebrities from all walks of life. Tianxuandong prison is a natural cave, which is hidden deep in the mountains and valleys. The entrance is semicircular, with a top of15m, a widest point of 54m, a depth of130m and an area of 3,400 square meters. Because of its dangerous terrain, steep rock wall, remote and inaccessible, and easy to hide, it has become a secret place for the Kuomintang military system to hold "important criminals." From June 1938 to July 1946, General Yang Hucheng, his wife Xie Baozhen, his youngest son Yang Zhengzhong and his youngest daughter Yang Zhenggui were in this inaccessible place. Xifeng concentration camp was established from June 1938 to July1946, and held more than 220 people, including many celebrities. Such as: Xu Xiaoxuan (the prototype of Xu Yunfeng in Red Rock), Che Yaoxian (the founder of Chengdu Nuli Rice), Yang Hucheng, ("Little Radish Head"), Luo Shiwen, Song Qiyun, Huang Xiansheng, Zhang Luping, Ma Yinchu, etc. More than 600 revolutionaries gave their lives here for the cause of national liberation, and seven martyrs, including Zhang Luping, were among them.
