Will there be atavism in human beings?

Almost impossible. Although there are occasionally some "atavistic" individuals in human groups, such as covered with hair, such people are very few after all, and have little impact on the gene pool of the whole human group.

"Atavism" happens occasionally now, such as multiple hairs, "tail growth" and lower limb adhesion, which are all considered to be related to heredity, making people's appearance characteristics a bit like a certain race or an older biological form that has appeared in history. This is actually a part of evolution, not a real "atavism", not to mention degradation.

In the history of human evolution, there are fewer and fewer related genes such as multi-body hair in the population, but they have not completely disappeared. Due to the influence of human aesthetic factors, and fewer people have this trait, such a gene is not conducive to transmission among people. There is no clear direction for gene mutation, which usually appears first, and then makes human beings gradually evolve into what they are now through natural selection.

The present environment of the earth is similar to any period in history, but it is by no means the same, so the distribution of various factors affecting biological evolution is different. How can the changes of genes affected by the environment completely repeat the course of human ancestors? There is no doubt that human beings can evolve naturally for a long time under the influence of the environment, and human life sciences are also making constant progress. It is undeniable that in the future, human beings will control the direction of human evolution through genetic means, and even modify human genes, so that human beings can withstand the complex and ever-changing cosmic environment, and then go out of the earth and go to the universe.

Looking back now, human history has a relatively complete evolutionary process, and we can see it at every stage, but we can't predict the future of human beings. Modern human beings are just one of countless possible development directions corresponding to primitive human groups in history, and slightly different influencing factors will lead to different results. For example, at present, the differences in the appearance characteristics of various races are the result of different environmental factors.
