How did the name of Bakeng in Beilun Jiufeng Mountain come from? Why does it have this name? Are there eight pits on this road?

The eight pits of Jiufeng Mountain are adjacent to the dammed lake of Wan Cheng Reservoir in the west, and the stream has been flowing. The eight natural pits, where water can be enjoyed above and stones can be enjoyed below, are in harmony with the green hills and bamboos, and have the characteristics of "simplicity, seclusion, elegance, strangeness, danger and wildness".

According to legend, the Eight Immortals crossed the East China Sea from the sea under the Jiufeng Mountain to visit Guanyin Bodhisattva. Before crossing the sea, the Eight Immortals had been to Jiufeng Mountain. In order to benefit the local people, the Eight Immortals showed their magical powers here and turned themselves into a pit, so there was a magical and charming landscape of eight pits.
