How to change the faucet valve core?

Methods/steps

1, prepare tools

The valve core is broken, so we have to buy a replacement of the same model first. Under normal circumstances, which brand of faucet you buy, you will go to the store of this brand to buy the valve core, and basically you can buy it. After purchasing the valve core, prepare a straight or cross screwdriver or Allen wrench, and choose according to the screw of your faucet. Then prepare needle-nosed pliers and a knife.

2. Remove the cold and hot water buttons.

Before replacing the valve core, first find the water switch of this faucet, and then turn it off to avoid spraying water when replacing it. Then find the cold button or plastic cover and pry it gently with a small blade so that you can see the screws inside.

Step 3 remove the handle

After turning on the hot and cold water button, look at the shape of the screw, whether it is a straight line or a cross or a hexagon screw, and then decide which screwdriver to use or an Allen wrench. Remove the screw in the hole with a screwdriver, and then you can remove the handle of the faucet.

4. Unload the valve core

After removing the handle, you can see the valve core inside. Some valve cores have a fixed shell cover outside. Just remove the lid. Then you can see the card that fixes the spool. There are usually four claws on the card. Hold the two claws with the sides of the needle-nosed pliers, and then rotate clockwise to remove the card.

5. Device

After removing the clamp, you can remove the bad valve core, then install a new valve core, reverse the previous steps, reinstall other components, install the faucet handle, and pump in the water source valve to see if there is any water leakage. If there is no problem, lock the handle and install the plastic cover for hot and cold water.
