The importance of burning incense and worshiping Buddha

The following are the things to pay attention to when worshiping Buddha:

1. Dress cleanly. To purify yourself is to wash away the dust on your body and tidy yourself up a little;

2. Instructions for entering the temple. Generally, the main hall of a temple has two doors, a large door in the middle and two small doors on both sides. The gates on both sides allow pilgrims to enter and exit. You need to pay attention when entering. Women step with their right foot. The man steps forward with his left foot. You must not step on the threshold, this is disrespectful to the Buddha;

3. Buddha worship etiquette. Those who come to worship Buddha must have a pious heart and clean hands. When you come to worship Buddha, you should be careful when speaking in the temple. Do not talk or make noise. Don't point fingers at any Buddha statues. When burning incense and worshiping Buddha, do not cross the futon, otherwise it will be considered disrespectful;

4. The amount of incense burned. Use three sticks to pray for yourself, six sticks to pray for two generations, and nine sticks to pray for three generations. Thirteen is the ultimate, and thirteen sticks of incense are the incense with perfect merit;

5. Holding incense gesture. When burning incense, you should hold the incense in your left hand. When burning incense, the incense should be lit at once. The brighter the better. If the fire is not extinguished after lighting the incense, do not blow it with your mouth. Just hold it horizontally and shake the incense up and down to catch the wind. It will go out automatically.
