China has a long history of geomantic omen. Since the publication of Hutuluo Book, there have been many geographers and books for thousands of years.
In the long-term historical development, many schools of Feng Shui have formed in China, and each school has different characteristics in theory, terminology, operation technology, etc., and the perspective of viewing and analyzing Feng Shui is also different. In the course of its development, Feng Shui gradually formed two schools, namely, the situational school and the rational school. Formalism pays attention to the information of Luan Tou's position combination, while rationality adheres to the principle of luck and wealth. Both of them are external and internal, and each has its own strengths.
Major schools
(1) Situation: (1) Luantou School, (2) Image School, (3) Formal School.
(2) Rational style: (1) Eight Houses School, (2) Numerology School, (3) Sanhe School, (4) Guagua School, (5) Xing Fei School, (6) Five Elements School, (7) Kong Xuanda Gua School, (8) Eight Diagrams School and (9) Nine Planets Feibo School.
Situational school
When it comes to the school of situation, people will think of Guan Ju and Guo Pu, the founders of Feng Shui, who used the situation to discuss good or bad luck. The situation school emphasizes the geographical situation, mainly dragons, caves, sand and water, and always stresses the ancient and fierce. Although the Situational School is divided into three factions: Luan Tou School, Xiang School and Xing Fa School, in fact, these three factions are interrelated and not completely separated.
1, Luantou School. Luan Tou represents the situation of mountains and rivers in nature, and Luan Tou in natural geography includes dragons, sand and mountains. Dragon refers to the mountains that stretch in the distance; Sand refers to the hills within 360 degrees around the cave site; A mountain refers to a mountain peak far away from the cave.
2. Image school. Image is actually a very profound knowledge in Feng Shui, because it visually regards the mountain as an animal or other object. For example, a mountain is shaped like a lion. There are many names about images, such as Beauty Looking in the Mirror, Seven Stars Accompanied by the Moon and so on.
3. Form and law school. Shape method refers to some laws in Liutou Jing, which is developed on the basis of image school, and mainly discusses the law of cooperation between image and acupoint field. For example, there is a way to hedge with the cave, which is called "an arrow through the heart" in Xingfa School.
4. Song Feng Shui School. Feng Shui in Song Dynasty belongs to the situational school and is also good at regulating qi. Song Feng Shui paid attention to the practicality of Feng Shui, which originated from Song Feng Shui, a master of Feng Shui in southwest Shandong. It is characterized by practicality, objectivity and respect for tradition.
In short, you can't see the image without the mountain (Luantou): you can't see the mountain without the image and shape. In many places with high mountains in China, many geomancers attach great importance to the images of mountains and Luantou because of their great influence.
Rational style
Due to the rational style, almost all the theoretical viewpoints of Yin-Yang, Five Elements, Eight Diagrams, River Map, Luoshu, Astrology, Shensha, Yin Na, Qimen and Liu Ren were brought into its argumentation principle, forming a very complicated geomantic theory. It is precisely because the management style is too complicated that many small sects split.
