Jinhua Ham

In the late Northern Song Dynasty, the Jin soldiers went south. At that time, there was a famous anti-gold general named Zongze. He was from Yiwu County, Wuzhou. He recruited an army in his hometown. Each person's face was tattooed with the words "Serve the country with all my heart and swear to kill the gold thieves". It was also called the "Eight-Character Army". ". The Eight-Character Army moved to the front, attacking a city in three days and a government in seven days, and won every battle. When Jin Bing heard about the Eight-Character Army, he trembled with fear. Unexpectedly, the treacherous old thief Zhang Bangchang and others made trouble, secretly intercepting the letters home of the Eight Character Army soldiers, and changed the news in the letter that Zongze defeated the Jin soldiers to Zongze surrendered to the Jin soldiers. They had wine and meat every day and beautiful women every night. These letters were sent to Jinhua and Yiwu. After reading them, the fathers and mothers of the Eight Character Army soldiers felt confused.

Zongze had a cousin who was from Jinhua County. After hearing the news, he said to the villagers: "My Zongze has always been upright and upright. Now that he is said to have defected to the enemy, I don't believe it. Everyone, be prepared." Good winter clothes and food, I'll go there myself. If he's really like that, I'll give him six pounds and four ounces of his head!" Everyone agreed after hearing this. According to the local custom, pigs and geese were slaughtered. He took the people visiting relatives and set off on the road carrying the whole geese and pig legs one by one.

Three days of rain and nine days of wind passed through three states and six counties. When everyone saw that the pork legs were exposed to the sun and rain, they were worried that they would get damaged, so they rubbed a layer of salt on them, like pickles and radishes. After walking like this for ninety-nine and eighty-one days, the salted pork gave off a strange aroma that made everyone drool and be reluctant to eat it. Along the way, they heard many legends about the bravery and prowess of the Eight-Character Army and words of praise for Marshal Zong, and they felt sweet in their hearts.

After passing Zhuxian Town, it happened to be the New Year Lantern Festival, and Bianliang City put on lanterns for five days. When the soldiers of the Eighth-Character Army saw their relatives coming from their hometown, they happily accompanied them to Marshal Zongze's tent. Zongze's cousin grabbed Zongze and told him the reason for the letter. The Eight-Character Army was so happy that they all shed tears of joy as they ate the pork legs with excellent "color, aroma, taste and shape" sent by the villagers.

From now on, the people of Jinhua will marinate the pork legs in this way and eat them after a while. It tastes really good. Later, the more the pork legs were marinated, the more exquisite they became, and the color, aroma, taste and shape were all excellent. This is how Jinhua ham was passed down.

Mr. Baisha picks lime

In the early years, there was a man named Lu Gaoming (or Lu Zhi). He did a lot of good things for the people in Jinhua Nanshan, especially on both sides of Baisha River. These places called him: "Master Baisha", and the people planned to build a temple to repay his kindness. Master Baisha found out about this, so he found a pole and returned to his ancestral home, Fanyang, Youzhou, to pick up lime for the people of Jinhua.

When Master Baisha came to Youzhou, the people at the kiln treated their relatives politely when they saw their relatives returning to their ancestral home to pick lime. Master Baisha asked the kiln master how much lime he had. The kiln master expected that he could not pick much, and said, "You can take as much lime as you want, as long as you can carry it. Here, this kiln is being fired, so you can pick it all!" Mr. Baisha was so happy that a pair of iron baskets landed at the door of the kiln. The kiln master moved the lime into the iron baskets. It is strange to say that there are ten loads, twenty loads, one hundred loads and two hundred loads. The two iron baskets are not full, and all the lime from a kiln is stored in the iron basket. The master of the kiln was dumbfounded and regretted that he should not have spoken lightly in the first place. Master Baisha picked up the pole, picked up a set of two iron baskets, and picked them away with a "thump thump thump".

A kiln of lime contains at least several hundred tons, so it’s not easy to choose. Mr. Baisha traveled all night and crossed the Jinhua North Mountain. Just as he was about to cross the Jinhua River in one step, "bang", the iron pole broke and a load of lime fell down the mountain, leaving only a little bit in the iron basket. Mr. Baisha thought: "Just a little less, if you don't have enough, go back to Beishan to pick it up." From this season on, Beishan produces lime, and Nanshan people have no choice but to go to Beishan to buy lime.

Jin Sigong shaves his head

There is a Jin Sigong in Shangzhang Village, Luobu. He has one foot on gold and one foot on silver. He has never encountered any difficulties. People say that he is "half a god".

One day, Jin Sigong went to a barber shop to have his head shaved. The barber saw that his clothes were in tatters and guessed that he had no money on him, so he picked up the razor and gave it a few shaves. Jin Sigong touched his scalp, walked to the door of the store, kicked open a large stone slab, and two large ingots appeared under the stone slab. He took out one, then flattened the stone slab in the same way, and handed the ingots to the barber master for workmanship. The barber saw everything clearly. He thought: "There is an ingot under the slate, I can get it after all." Before dark, the barber quickly opened the slate and saw that the ingot was gone. I dug again with a hoe, but there was no shadow anywhere!

The second time Jin Sigong came to have his head shaved again, the shaver’s flattery was gone, all he needed was to get over the threshold. The barber invited Jin Sigong to the barbering bench. He changed the shampoo three or four times and shaved his beard and face cleanly. He also spent two hours digging his ears, knocking his back, pinching his tendons, and using up all his hair. .

The barber thought: "I should have two gold coins this time..." Who knew that Jin Sigong only handed him two copper coins, which made the barber's hands and feet cold: "Jin Sigong, that's all?" Hey, what I give you today is the first time I gave you this time, and what I gave you this time is the first time!”

Baishaxi and Hengshan Palm Prints

To the south of Langya, there is This small mountain is called Hengshan. There are five finger prints clearly printed on the stone wall of the mountain. Legend has it that a long time ago, there was a village here, where the people lived and worked in peace and contentment and were quite prosperous. But one year, it rained heavily for 7,749 days in a row, and flash floods broke out. The floods submerged crops and knocked down houses...

The people hid on a river dam that had washed away a gap, and went to the river. God please. At this time, the mountain torrent rushed towards the river dam carrying a large black stone. The lives of the people were in great danger! Suddenly, a young man named Bai Sha stepped forward, roared fiercely, and stretched out his hands to support the huge flying rocks.

The big rocks were held up, and the people worked together to strengthen the river dam, but Baisha was crushed to death by the big rocks! The flood water changed its course and flowed down both sides of the boulder, and later turned into a sweet spring water and merged into a stream. The huge stone stood there and formed a hill, leaving clear palm prints on it.

In order to commemorate the merits of Baisha’s descendants, people named the creek Baisha Creek and built a Baisha Palace nearby.

More than ten days passed, but no wheat vines were seen. The red heart broom told his wife about this. After hearing this, my wife felt strange and went to the field to see what happened. I dug up the soil and took a look, ah, it turned out that Mi Pang (fried rice) had been planted in the ground as wheat seeds. She brought some rice home and said angrily to her husband: "You lazy guy, open your eyes and see what you are planting!" The words spread among the people.
