How to raise pearl birds by hand

It's best to raise chickens by hand for about 10 to 15 days before taking them out. Because birds are too small, incomplete development, various systems are fragile and the survival rate is low; It's too big, and the birds won't eat it, so it's not good to feed.

Pay attention to the following problems in the process of hand care:

1. Temperature:

Find a box, add cotton and a piece of cloth to the bottom of the box. Some people say that paper towels are thrown away when they are dirty, but it is easy to cause splayed feet, so it is better to put cloth, put the birds on the cloth, cover them with some cotton, and leave a breathing space for the birds. Just keep the temperature between 25 and 30 degrees. If it can't reach this temperature, put the box on the router (the router is open), because the temperature of the open router is about 34 degrees.

2. Food:

The simplest formula: boiled millet (boiled for 20 minutes, when the millet is soaked, the temperature is similar to that of the mother bird feeding the bird)+green vegetables (a small amount, crushed and mixed in the soaked millet, sometimes not fed)+cuttlefish bones (a small amount, crushed and mixed in the soaked millet, intermittently fed).

Possible results of this formula:

(1) dyspepsia. When this happens, dry yeast tablets can be added to the formula (available in pharmacies).

(2) Malnutrition, the development is slower than that of the female bird, and the artificial feeding time is longer, which takes about one month to reach the effect of feeding the female bird for 20 days. When this happens, you can add some parrot BB milk powder (such as KT) to the soaked millet as much as possible, and if not, you can add some cooked egg yolk.

3. Feeding time:

Birds vary from person to person. Feed it every 2 to 4 hours to see the degree of digestion. Before feeding, look at the birds' whining. Wait until the digestion is almost complete, and feed seven or eight points at a time.

Feeding usually starts at 6 am and ends at 7 pm. It's best to use a new one every time to prevent birds from getting sick with bacteria because of leftovers. Leave the bird alone after feeding it. Don't play with birds in a hurry. It needs sleep.

4. Feeding tools:

The following is my personal opinion, the habit of looking at people.

(1) Ear spoon: More troublesome (personal)

(2) Syringe: The millet can only be fed when it is boiled. You can't just soak it in boiling water, otherwise it will block the hole. The dosage of injection (feeding) is not easy to master.

(3) Straw +BBQ label: Personally, I prefer this kind, which is simple to operate and fast to feed.

5. Weaning period:

Regarding the weaning of birds, the big birds will continue to feed the birds for a week after leaving the nest, but during this week, the birds should learn to eat by themselves. Generally, the big birds will not feed the birds after one week. This week is called the weaning adaptation period of birds.

Artificial poultry must also go through weaning adaptation period. When birds have the desire to peck, they should pinch the millet with their hands and feed it grain by grain. Try to let the birds peck themselves and adapt slowly, which requires patience.

The first stage: at first, you can feed the cooked millet one by one, and then feed the eggs and millet when you get used to it. At first, you can't peck birds with millet, because some birds are used to eating millet with shells, and they can eat it, but they don't spit quickly (some may peel the shells before eating it, but basically don't peel it behind). ), it will cause the bird to cry to death because of the chaff scratch and bleeding.

Stage 2: Birds can eat millet by themselves. At this time, they can put some millet (a few grains) appropriately, observe the situation of birds peeling millet shells, and gradually increase the number of millet. Someone put the bird and the big bird together outside the cage, let the bird observe and learn how the big bird eats millet. I haven't tried this. You can try it. )

When your bird can eat millet, congratulations, you have successfully raised a relative's bird.
