Analysis:

Cixi was born in a family of officials in Manchuria's Xianglan Banner (later moved to Manchuria's Xianghuang Banner). Cixi's great-grandfather, Jilang'a, once served as a foreign minister in the Ministry of Household Affairs. He left behind a deficit of silver and passed away. Grandfather Jingrui was a doctor in the Shandong Division of the Ministry of Punishment, which is equivalent to the current director of a division in the ministry. In the twenty-seventh year of Daoguang (1847), he was dismissed from his post because he failed to reimburse his father Jilang'a's shortfall when he served in the Ministry of Household Affairs on time. My maternal grandfather, Hui Xian, served as deputy capital in Guihua City, Shanxi. His father's name was Hui Zheng, and he worked in the Ministry of Personnel as a writer. He was an eighth-grade civil servant equivalent to secretary and translator in the Ministry of Personnel. He was promoted repeatedly. According to the Qing palace archives "Cabinet Inspection Records" (records of the Qing Dynasty's triennial inspections of Beijing officials): Cixi's father Hui Zheng wrote in writing in the eleventh year of Daoguang (1831), and in the fourteenth year of Daoguang In 1834, the inspection was designated as the second-class official post. In the 19th year (1839), it was the eighth grade pen post style. In the 23rd year of Daoguang's reign (1843), it was inspected again and designated as the first-class writing style of the Ministry of Personnel. In the twenty-sixth year (1846), he was transferred to the head of the Literary and Selection Department of the Ministry of Personnel. In the twenty-eighth year (1848) and the twenty-ninth year (1849), because his examination results were first-class, he was received by the emperor and was released to a first-level official position in the Taoist government. In April of the same year, he was appointed to Guisui Road in Shanxi Province. In the second year of Xianfeng (1852), he was transferred to the Taoist priest of Anhui Hui (Huizhou Prefecture) Ning (Ningguo Prefecture) Chi (Chizhou Prefecture) Tai (Taiping Prefecture) Guang (Guangzhou) Road.
