Qianlong was born on August 13th in the 5th year of Kangxi (1711), and his birthdates was "Xin Mao, Ding You, Geng Wu and Bing Zi". The "Eight Characters of Qianlong" was deeply hidden in the palace. After the Qing Dynasty, it began to sort out the archives of the cabinet treasury, and one of the first precious archives to be opened to the public was the "Eight Characters of Qianlong". There is a comment in the "Eight Characters of Qianlong":
"This life is rich and natural, which goes without saying. Occupy an abnormal temperament, smart and delicate, be kind and filial, and learn to be civil and military. When you are young, you always see floating disasters, which does not hinder you. To be lucky at the age of 16, you should be healthy, do everything you want, and have better ambitions. It is the most difficult to see a wife and a star in life, and there are many children, and Shou Yuan is tall and thick. There are four squares in the column, and nothing else is needed. "
"Four directions in the column form a lattice" means that all the columns see the "meridian and unitary", which is called "four pure lattices" according to numerology, and it is a powerful creation with great talent. Some people say that Qianlong is the emperor. Which astrologer criticizes him for being bad? Actually, it is not. The above-mentioned "Ganlong Eight Characters" was formed in Kangxi's sixty-one years, and it has the following words: "This year's old Renyin (Kangxi's sixty-one years old), the lucky stars in the fleeting time sit in the sky, the lucky stars keep the photos, the seasons are auspicious, and the happiness is peaceful". This year, Qianlong was twelve years old in vain. He was the fourth son of Prince Yong and one of hundreds of emperors and grandsons of Kangxi. Astrologers who were ordered to approve the eight-character horoscope were only numerologically speaking. Where did they know that this child was the third generation emperor? "Tianfu" in the comment on writing; "Tian Xi Xing" Yunyun is a astrologer's term, saying that it is a good year and the four seasons are auspicious.
It was in the spring of this year that Qianlong first received Kangxi with his grandson, and birthdates of Qianlong should be brought back by Kangxi this time. The existing comment on writing of "Ganlong Eight Characters" should be approved from March 12th to 25th. It is said that someone once saw Kangxi's comment on "This life is rich and natural" in the comment on "Ganlong Eight Characters" in the archives of the Forbidden City. However, "Ganlong Eight Characters" in the Collection of Stories did not indicate that Kangxi had personally commented on it in the form of comments or notes, so it is very likely that the comment on "Ganlong Eight Characters" was approved by Kangxi's fortune teller. In the comment on writing, it is said that "this life is rich and natural", "being kind and filial" and "Shou Yuan is generous and generous", which has covered the so-called "Five Blessingg" in ancient times: longevity, wealth, corning, friendship and virtue, and final life in exams. From the point of view of life, the life of this emperor's grandson can't be better, and there is such an expression as "a lot of children's interest", so it is appropriate for Kangxi to treat him differently. However, it is inevitable that the emperor's ancestors will feel uneasy when they are young, so they will be lucky to visit Yuanmingyuan on March 25. Qianlong was raised in the palace, when it began. After Ganlong entered the palace, he spent a short period of less than eight months beside the emperor's ancestors. During this period, Kangxi repeatedly said that Ganlong was "blessed deeply", "blessed too much" and "cherished life", which could only be based on "Ganlong's eight characters".
In the spring of sixty-one year of Kangxi, Kangxi wanted to keep Brother Hongli (later Emperor Qianlong), the concubine of Yong Di, with him for a long-term test, but the day was short, and the time was coming in November of that year. When Kangxi hastily weighed Yin Zhen (the fourth son of the Emperor, later yongzheng emperor), Yun Chan, or other brothers including Yin Zhi, the third brother, he had the best fortune and talent. After comprehensively considering the conditions of the father and son, Kangxi said the earth-shattering will that "Prince Yin Zhen, the fourth son of the emperor, is the most sage, and I will be the heir after my death".
When Kangxi died, he entrusted the four emperors Yongzheng to "seal" Hongli as the Crown Prince. Yongzheng obeyed Kangxi's will, and on the anniversary of his accession to the throne, that is, in August of the first year of Yongzheng, he solemnly held a ceremony to establish the Crown Prince. He personally wrote Hongli as the secret of the Crown Prince, sealed it in an iron box, and respected the "fair and bright" plaque (according to the regulations)
Inferring from the reason, Yongzheng had already considered "this life is rich and natural" when the "Eight Characters of Qianlong" was presented to Kangxi for reference. There are astrologers in Yongdi, and Kangxi and Yongzheng's father and son must have talked about his fate before and after Qianlong's "nurturing palace". It is because of Kangxi's deep understanding of Yongzheng that Qianlong's "being a prince" was predicted, which can also be further inferred. It is because of Qianlong's confidence that Yongzheng succeeded to the throne at the last minute.
However, although the Qing emperor believed in Feng Shui and so on, and used it as a political reference, he never made a big fuss about it, nor could he record it in official books openly, but only in a very small scope and in a very confidential way, and outsiders could not hear about it, because it was related to the national image and the emperor's face. In the "Eight Characters of Qianlong" hidden in the palace, Qianlong himself knew that birthdates predicted the fate of his life, and tried to overcome or avoid the bad luck of his life by manpower. However, he never boasted that his life was healthy and vigorous, and he always kept a close eye on Emperor Kangxi's reference to his birthdates when he decided to inherit the throne. When he thought that he should explain to future generations, he just said something like "My life is precious".
In short, Qianlong, the son of Emperor Yong's concubine, was designated as the third generation emperor by Kang Ximo, which had a lot to do with birthdates's excellent performance. This is one of the deepest secrets of the Qing Palace.
The discovery of "Eight Characters of Qianlong" from dusty archives and its publicity will undoubtedly open a new way of thinking for uncovering the historical case of Yongzheng's succession to the throne.
