Symptomatic response of different types of vulvar leukoplakia

Proliferative leukoplakia of vulva

Symptoms and characteristics of proliferative leukoplakia of vulva: severe keratinization and hyperplasia in vulva skin area, repeated exfoliation of keratinized layer, or redness, edema, chapping, ulceration and erosion of vulva due to scratching, with itching and pain, and patients feel severe symptoms.

Atrophic leukoplakia of vulva

The symptoms of atrophic vulvar leukoplakia are flat labia majora, disappearance of labia minora, clitoris atrophy or adhesion. Atrophy of urethral orifice, severe urinary incontinence, atrophy of vaginal orifice, and difficulty in sexual life. Some patients have anal leukoplakia and atrophy, which leads to the decrease of elasticity of perianal skin without wrinkles, and causes anal fissure when defecating. About 50% patients have a large area of hypopigmentation in vulva skin.

Lichen leukoplakia of vulva

Symptoms and characteristics of lichen-type vulvar leukoplakia: at the initial stage of the disease, white small white rashes of different sizes appear, and the vulva has itching sensation and severe itching; Late vulva is dry and chapped, like old bark. Patients often feel itchy, unable to sleep and have no appetite, which leads to psychosomatic failure over time.

Mixed leukoplakia of vulva

Symptoms and characteristics of mixed vulvar leukoplakia: Patients with vulvar leukoplakia hyperplasia and atrophy develop to late stage II to stage III, and generally have two types of mixed symptoms. Its manifestations are obvious atrophy of vulva, hypertrophy of clitoris prepuce, obvious keratinization, thick dermatoglyphics of labia majora, hypopigmentation and localized thickening ulcer.
