The origin of the name of Dabaishu area in northern Shanghai

Located in the northeast of Shanghai, Dabaishu straddles the boundary between Hongkou District and Yangpu District, and is the regional place name around the intersection of Yixian Road, Wenshui East Road, Zhongshan North 1st Road, Quyang Road and Handan Road. Before 1984, it belonged to jiangwan town, Baoshan County.

Big cypress, formerly known as Dabashan Temple, was named after a Japanese major general. It turned out that there was no road name there, which was later called by the Japanese. "Big Eight Episodes" is a place name branded by Japanese militarism in Shanghai after 1937 "August 13th". "da ji" is a Japanese character, pronounced "Shi", which means a crossroads. [1], it evolved into "Daba Temple", "Dabazi" and "Dabai Temple". In order to safeguard national dignity, with the approval of the 1988 10 municipal government, the Shanghai Municipal People's Government issued a document on 1989 (Ban {1989} No.45), renaming "Daba Temple" as "Daba Tree".
