The verb declensions cannot reflect the person and singular and plural forms. In modern Japanese, all verbs in modern Japanese dictionaries end with a part of うdankana (う, く, ぐ, す, む, つ, ぬ, ぶ, ふ, ぷ, る).
In this way, the verb "食べる" (taberu) is like the English verb "eat", although it is actually the present tense meaning "eat" / eats (third person singular of eat)” or “will eat” (will eat, future tense of eat). Some other declension forms are "食べない".
