What does Buddhism mean by greed and ignorance?

Greed is excessive paranoia about preference; Anger is excessive paranoia about hate; Madness is a reaction to the reality of fundamental ignorance and greed or anger. Giving up wisdom is the cure for greed and ignorance.

Buddhism has the so-called "greed, ignorance and anger" three thoughts:

1. greed

Greed refers to the psychological activity that is dyed in the realm of color, sound, fragrance, taste and touching the five desires. Volume 5 of Mahayana Chapter of Righteousness says, "I want to dye my love name." That's what it means. Buddhism believes that all beings live in the world and contact with the outside world with their eyes, ears, nose, tongue, body and other organs, producing feelings such as color, sound, fragrance, taste and touch. These feelings can arouse the desires of all beings, so they are called five desires. In this case, the five desires are persistent, resulting in the heart of love, which becomes greed. Therefore, greed and love are synonyms.

Volume 16 of "All Houses" says: "Greed for its wealth, evil desire for fame." In layman's terms, the insatiable pursuit and possession of fame, interests, property, everything that the outside world can desire, even the body of all beings in harmony with the five elements, can be called greed. In the sixth volume of Cheng Wei's Theory of Knowledge, he said, "What is the cloud of greed? Yes, yes, and dyeing. Being able to overcome greed and pain is a career. " "You" and "You Ju" refer to the various conditions on which all sentient beings in the three realms live. It is believed that greed is an obstacle to greed, and because it is attached to all beings composed of five aggregates, life is in a constant cycle of life and death, suffering from the cycle of the three realms, so suffering is a cause.

Buddhism regards greed as the enemy of Buddhist practice and the root of all troubles, so it is listed as one of the fundamental troubles, and greed, anger and delusion are regarded as the "three poisons" harmful to the practice of all beings. Some Hinayana departments regard greed as one of the "infinite laws", while Mahayana intellectuals only regard greed as one of the "worry laws". According to the different objects of greed, the theory of total abandonment divides greed into four types: one is to show greed, the other is to show greed, the third is to touch greed, and the fourth is to worship greed. In the yoga teacher's theory of land, it is divided into greed, greed, greed, greed, greed, greed, greed, greed, greed, greed, greed, greed.

get angry

Also known as anger, resentment, etc. Hatred, resentment and psychological harm to others. The theory of Mahayana five aggregates says: "What is the cloud of anger? It is said that love and pleasure are harmful. " The theory of only knowing says: "those who are angry are bitter and bitter, and those who hate them can stop anger and be unstable, and evil deeds depend on it." Anger is one of the fundamental troubles in Buddhism, and it is also called "three poisons" with greed and stupidity.

Anger is the opposite of greed. Greed is the insatiable pursuit and psychological desire for possession caused by the love of things, and anger is the psychological and emotional feeling of resentment and anger caused by the aversion to all existing things or things. Buddhism believes that resenting others or other things against one's will will make all beings feel hot and restless, which is very harmful to Buddhist and Taoist practice. Therefore, Buddhism regards anger as the enemy of practice. This is the case with Buddhist practice. If it is for others or society, anger is more harmful. Anger and hatred for others will lead to fighting or killing each other, hurting a family and a village, not the whole society and the whole country into disaster. Therefore, in the fourteenth volume of Great Wisdom, anger is the heaviest of the three poisons, the deepest resentment, and the most intractable of all kinds of heart diseases.

Be crazy.

And ignorant. Of a dark mind, ignorant. Give up everything and say, "Idiot, the so-called stupidity is ignorance." Buddhism believes that all beings are ignorant and persistent about things from the beginning because of ignorance, which leads to the distinction between "person" and "me". Therefore, there is self-discipline, law and discipline, all kinds of troubles in life, and all kinds of disturbances in the world, all of which are from this. So delusion depends on all troubles. The theory of knowing only says in Volume VI: "It is the director's nature to be obsessed with darkness, which can hinder the ignorant, and all kinds of impurities depend on it." He also said: "All troubles are caused by delusion."

Insanity is the foundation of all troubles, so it naturally becomes one of the fundamental troubles. It works with other fundamental problems. In the 55th volume of On the Earth written by the yoga teacher, it is also regarded as a concrete manifestation of delusion, such as confusion, slander, flattery, groggy, delusion, disorganization and ignorance. The purpose of Buddhist practice is to eliminate ignorance.
