The vernacular interpretation of "Listening to the Rain": When I was young, I listened to the rain in the singing tower, with red candles and light tents under the dim light. When I reach middle age, I am on a small boat in a foreign country, watching the drizzle, the vast river, the water and the sky, and in the west wind, a lone goose that has lost its flock is wailing. Now, in his old age, with gray hair on his temples, he is alone under the monk's hut, listening to the drizzle of rain. The experience of life's joys and sorrows is ruthless, so let's let the light rain fall in front of the steps until dawn.
Ting Yu generally refers to "Ting Yu", which is a poem written by Jiang Jie, a poet in the Song Dynasty.
This poem uses "Listening to the Rain" as a medium to summarize the special feelings of youth, adulthood and old age, integrating decades of time and space: teenagers only know how to laugh and enjoy. Intoxication; wandering in the prime of life, lonely and sad; the loneliness of old age, the joys and sorrows of life, are all reflected in the sound of rain. This word uses time and space jumps in structure, and is connected with "listening to the rain" repeatedly. The upper and lower pieces are integrated into one, and it has the ingenuity of ups and downs.
Original text:
The young man was listening to Yuge upstairs, under the dim tent with red candles. A young man in his prime listens to the rain in a boat. The river is wide and the clouds are low. The wild geese cry out in the west wind.
Now I am listening to the rain at the foot of the monk’s hut, and there are stars on my temples. The joys and sorrows are always ruthless, dripping from moment to moment until dawn. Extended information
When Jiang Jiesheng became a Jinshi in the Song and Yuan Dynasties, he was a Jinshi in about the 10th year of Chengchun (1274) of Du Zong of the Song Dynasty, and the Song Dynasty fell a few years later. His life was a life of displacement and suffering in the war years. This poem is a self-narration of his troubled life. He also wrote a poem "Congratulations to the Bridegroom: The Empress of the Army Resides in Wu". The love story described in this poem can be mutually confirmed with this poem. These two poems were probably written after the fall of the Song Dynasty.
The poet started from the unique perspective of "listening to the rain", and through the jump of time and space, he successively launched three "listening to the rain" pictures, and infiltrated and integrated the joys and sorrows of his life into them.
This poem was written from the me of the past to the me of today, and it is narrated in time; but the trigger point of its writing should be from the me of today to the me of the past. It goes backwards in time.
The main character in the poem should be the present self, not the old self. Therefore, following the above two pictures, they work together to contrast and set off.
