There used to be an old saying that it is better to bully dragons, phoenixes and tigers than to provoke five poisons.
On the one hand, people with dragons and phoenixes are generally upright, while people with five poisons will punish you by hook or by crook.
On the other hand, I would rather offend a gentleman than a sinister villain.
