Laozi believes that the characteristic of "heaven" is to reduce surplus and make up for deficiency, while "benevolence" is the opposite. This proposition had an important influence on later generations. In the Ming Dynasty, Shen's Lao Zi Tong used this proposition when criticizing the inequality in social life, pointing out: "People have different ways. Gather poverty and cheap wealth to flatter the hearts of nobles; It will bleed next, so take it as much as possible; In the world, it is hidden more than used, or used as sediment. Loss is not enough to serve, which is different from heaven. "
