Subject and predicate in modern Chinese
Subject-predicate compound words are one of the main types of compound words in modern Chinese, but the number is relatively small, so the attention is relatively limited. Some scholars have done some research on subject-predicate compound words, but the main content is its distribution, diachronic or scattered semantic research, and the in-depth research on it in modern Chinese is relatively weak. The long-term existence and widespread use of subject-predicate compound words show that it is necessary to exist. Therefore, it is very necessary to study this kind of compound words for the modern Chinese compound word system and even the whole modern Chinese vocabulary system. We extracted all the subject-predicate compounds from Modern Chinese Dictionary (6th Edition) as the corpus of this paper, and studied these subject-predicate compounds in modern Chinese in four chapters. The first chapter is the judgment of subject-predicate compound words in modern Chinese. Firstly, discuss what is the subject-predicate relationship and what is unique about the subject-predicate relationship of subject-predicate compound words in modern Chinese. Secondly, we judge the subject and predicate of subject-predicate compound words in modern Chinese respectively. The standard we use is comprehensive, which not only draws lessons from the formal standard, but also discriminates from the perspective of meaning. Then it analyzes the characteristics of subject-predicate compound words in modern Chinese. Finally, we discuss several important parts of speech in subject-predicate compound words in modern Chinese, including "Zi X" and subject-predicate compound words representing body names. The judgment of subject-predicate compounds is a very important basic work. Due to the small number, it is very important for the whole corpus to judge whether each word is correct or not.
