It's all his son Zhu Di, otherwise others wouldn't dare to draw like this.
There are many portraits handed down by Zhu Yuanzhang in history, and there are thirteen for official textual research alone. But they are not the same. To sum up, there are two kinds of faces, that is, two kinds of portraits handed down from ancient times.
the first kind of face: broad face, big ears, bright eyes, high forehead and round nose, domineering and leaking sideways. That is, we often see the full-bodied ancient handsome boy image.
the second kind of face: it looks like a pig's waist, with obscene eyes, pockmarked face and feminine temperament. That is, the pig's kidney face mentioned in the title, also known as the shoehorn face.
The first kind of face came from Zhu Yuanzhang's imperial painters Shen Xiyuan, Sun Wenzong, Chen Yuan and others. It was officially recognized as an image during the reign of Zhu Yuanzhang. The second kind of face was "created" by Zhu Di, Zhu Yuanzhang's "good son" after his death, and Zhu Di also compiled the ugly image of Zhu Yuanzhang's "pig waist face" into A Record of Ming Taizu.
From then on, Zhu Yuanzhang's appearance, like the failure of plastic surgery, changed from the appearance of an emperor with a wide face and big ears to a strange appearance like a pig's waist. ?
why did Zhu di "vilify" Zhu Yuanzhang?
Zhu Di believes in the art of divination.
What "physiognomy", "physiognomy", "judging eight characters" and "measuring good or bad" ...
Zhu Di is convinced of these feudal superstitions.
The prototype of Yuan Shoucheng in The Journey to the West is Yuan Zhongche, a fortuneteller favored by Zhu Di. No matter what Zhu Di does, he must "calculate" in advance. He has to calculate when sending troops to fight, when the prince is born, when selecting talents, and even the face of his father Zhu Yuanzhang.
When Zhu Di wrote A Record of Ming Taizu, how to describe Zhu Yuanzhang's appearance became a headache for Zhu Di.
It's too common to write according to the image depicted in the palace studio. Which emperor in history is not broad-minded and big-eared, domineering and leaking? But which emperor can pass on the mountains and rivers from generation to generation?
When Zhu Di couldn't make up his mind, he went to do divination again ...
The physiognomist told Zhu Di that only by describing the appearance of the founding emperor as a "real dragon" can we protect the stability of my Daming Mountain forever. ?
Thus, a strange passage appeared in A Record of Ming Taizu:
"In the first year of Wu Dynasty (1367), the dreamer put a jade on his neck, and then his neck was slightly painful, and he suspected his illness. After that, the bone grows. "
Zhu Di said that Zhu Yuanzhang had a dream at night, in which a jade wall filled with auspicious gas got into his neck. As a result, when he woke up the next day, Zhu Yuanzhang's forehead swelled and his chin became longer, becoming a "pig's waist face". ?
Isn't this nonsense? Did Zhu Yuanzhang have a plastic surgery in his dream? Chin pad and forehead augmentation?
however, this is not all. ? In the 11th year of Yongle, Zhu Di renovated the Xiaoling Mausoleum for Zhu Yuanzhang, and set up a "stone tablet of divine power and virtue" for Zhu Yuanzhang in Xiaoling Mausoleum.
This "monumental work and sacred virtue" once again makes Zhu Yuanzhang's image "pig's waist".
The inscription on the tablet reads: "Taizu has a beard and a long beard, and the keel on his neck is hidden to the top, which is magnificent and looks like a god."
isn't it a typical "pig's waist face" that a bone bulges from the neck to the forehead? ?
As mentioned above, Zhu Di was surrounded by a favored fortuneteller named Yuan Zhongche. Yuan Zhongche was in charge of compiling the Ancient and Modern Lessons in Jingtai for two years. Yuan Zhongche, who got the right to speak, boasted about Zhu Yuanzhang's appearance in the book.
The book says: "Taizu's dragon has a pupil and a phoenix eye, and his auxiliary bones are inserted into his temples, and heaven and earth face each other."
Dragon's pupil and phoenix's eye are large and slender. The auxiliary bone inserted into the temples means that the head is big and the face is long. Heaven and earth are facing each other, that is, the forehead and chin are opposite. Taken together, Zhu Yuanzhang has become the "pig waist face" we see now. ?
court painters and folk painters don't have the courage to vilify Zhu Yuanzhang. Zhu Di created Zhu Yuanzhang's image of "pig's waist and face".
Zhu Di's starting point was to beautify Zhu Yuanzhang's heroic image, but Zhu Di pushed the "beauty camera" too far. In the end, Zhu Yuanzhang was completely cheated by his son. Is this the earliest "pit dad"?
